EA Megathread

Since my free EA charging extends beyond 2/5/25, I did not think Lucid expected me to sign up for the Lucid Charging Service (available upgrade) at this time, but that (consistent with the separate email I received) they DID want me to make sure I have a valid credit card on file for any idle or congestion fees that I incur. If I'm wrong about that, it would be great to know before 2/5/25.

I would just not want to risk that an easily resolvable EA handshake problem, which does happen time to time, would not automatically result in me being billed for the (otherwise free) kWh delivered.

Here is the text of my email below:

Manage Idle Fees Easily with Lucid Wallet

Your Lucid Air 50EA1TEA0RA00---- is currently enrolled in complimentary charging with Electrify America, scheduled to end on February 5th, 2025.

Enroll in the Lucid Charging Plan to ensure continued plug-and-charge access at Electrify America and other charging partners. Membership is available at no cost and allows you to seamlessly pay for charging as you go, without having to swipe a card at the station.

To enroll, log into the owner portal and go to Dashboard / Upgrades.

Select Lucid Charging – Base Plan under Available and click Purchase. Follow the instructions to confirm the subscription.
------------

This is a poorly worded communication to owners and there should be no confusion as to the message. Is the intent only that idle fees (as in the bolded text) are to be managed after Feb 5th or is complimentary charging to end on Feb 5th?
Looks like you got the wrong email by mistake. Happens.

What does the app say is your expiration date? It should be fixed in the mobile app now.

I hope so. The Service Summary in the new app is blank, annoyingly. I've tried logging-out and back in and it's still blank. The previous version of the app showed May 2025.

I get this even though I'm supposed to have free charging until 8/2025

If an email specifies Feb. 5, it means that a vehicle is not currently enrolled in a 1-, 2-year, or 3-year complimentary plan or one that is scheduled to expire before the 2/5 date.
My email shows my complimentary charging end date correctly. It also says to add credit card to Lucid wallet by Feb. 5, 2025 to retain my complimentary charging

I have one on file with Lucid.
Is this with Lucid Wallet? As I mentioned, I first chose the charging "upgrade", and added a credit card there. Then I went separately to my Lucid Wallet (which did not show the card I had just added), and added a credit card there. This leads me to think that perhaps the charging payment method and the Lucid Wallet are separate systems.

Mine says ending Feb 5th. Car was purchased in July 2024 and I don't think Lucid was offering free charging then. But my App used to say 1 year. Since my lease agreement doesn't explicitly state free charging as @mcr16 mentioned, I assume Lucid is fixing my free ride by Feb 5th. Anyway, I am thankful for all the free charging until now!

Some of you with the Feb 5th date may be in the same boat as me. Please let me know if you learn anything differently.

My car’s complimentary charging will not expire until 2/10/2026. However, when I log onto my account and look at upgrade options, I see following:

Do I still need to enroll to the “Free” plan?
I have a credit card on file, but I dont see this option when i login to the portal. 🤷‍♂️ where can i find the dashboard/ upgrades?

Yeah, it's with the wallet.

Well my summary screen in the app is completely blank, even after signing up on the Lucid site for the base plan and adding a credit card. I also have a year of free charging. I've tried logging out and back in and just installed the 2.11 update and it's still blank.

I highly doubt that these two systems are intertwined such that changing one would automatically change the other. If you run the Lucid API for your vehicle, you can see the EA promo start and end dates recorded on-board, if any. These data are in epoch seconds, so you will have to translate them online. Just do a Google search entering the epoch end date and asking for a translation.

Mine is set to expire on Feb 5th even though the app says I have 3 years of complimentary charging. My email also mentioned complimentary charging is set to end on Feb 5th. Will adding a credit card fix this?

I was able subscribe to the charging plan under my upgrades section, which asked me to add my credit card details to link it to the subscription plan, even though I already had a credit card on file in my Lucid account.
I'm curious what will happen when selling my Lucid or returning it at the end of my lease, since I don't see an option to unsubscribe from the plan, and it seems that this subscription along with with my credit card information are associated with the VIN number of the vehicle. I think it would be nice to add an option to opt out of the subscription plan, or maybe update the payment information linked to it.

Has your complimentary EA charging expired? What is this charging plan?

My lease agreement didn't include complimentary EA charging.
This charging plan is what we were asked to subscribe to in the email most of us received (no-cost membership), to basically link a credit card to our account for future charging costs and idle fees.
