Doors painfully slow to unlock…

So it seems with every update it just gets worse, this morning it flat pissed me off! My car sometimes has quite a delay when I walk up to it before the doors will unlock and the handles will deploy. In the past I’ve taken my key and pushed once to “lock” and then wait and then it finally realizes I’m there and unlocks. Sometimes I can push on the door handles themselves and wait for a while and they will finally deploy. A few times this has happened in the rain where every wasted second waiting to get in the car is really annoying. This morning it just flat wouldn’t open, finally opened the mobile app on my phone, waited for the car to wake up, waited for the app to actually start working, then unlocked the doors in the app and waited and waited until they finally unlocked and the handles deployed. Literally took about 3 minutes, which to some may not seem like a long time, but if that’s what you think, go stand by your door and count to 180 before opening it and then realize how frustrating it actually is! Is anybody else having this issue? No, I haven’t called Lucid yet as I just needed to move the damn car so I could get my pickup out of the garage and didn’t want to wait on hold forever trying to get a tech on the phone and all the hassles that go with it.
I have read through all these entries…. I have on my lucid air for almost 2 years. I too frequently cannot get into my car from anywhere from a five second delay to a several minute delay. Happens 50% of the time!!! Once I even had to call Lucid to get me entry into the car after 8 mins!!!! And I was not in the middle of the desert. I was in the middle of a town in a populated area. I too have tried changing fob batteries. I have tried using the correct fob batteries as suggested. I even had Lucid put in new batteries in my fobs. I have tried to reloading the app. I have tried everything. Please don’t tell me I’m forgetting or missing something or doing something wrong. I also owned two different Teslas. I own multiple cars of different brands. None of them have this problem. Regardless, whether Lucid is a new company or not, this bug should’ve been worked out. Also, every day I drive to work, I go through a section and it causes my Clock to change to eastern time. I am 20 miles from the border where it changes time. I have gone through multiple avenues to try to have this corrected. My Lucid dealer/service center sent out 2 Lucids to the same stretch of highway and both of them had the same click problem. So it’s an IT problem at the factory. The best I can get is that they are revamping things and hopefully by May 2025, it will be improved. Unacceptable for a car that cost well over $100,000. I love to look, feel, performance, etc. of the car. But I am going to sell it because I cannot stand not being able to get into my car immediately so often and the clock issue that they cannot correct.
 
I feel your pain. I love the car, but this is its most annoying feature. if it is an annoyance in the rain think of what it has been like in 12 degree weather with the wind blowing and groceries waiting to be loaded into the car. Recently, I have wondered what it is like for owners in the LA fires waiting for the doors to unlatch as sparks fly and smoke smothers.

I did call support and it wasn’t a long wait. He suggested the “nuclear option” reset. For the past several times the response has been good, but I am anticipating the return of the problem. He also said tech is working trying to resolve it but didn’t give a date for a roll out.

It’s not elegant but I have started using my valet card when the handles are unresponsive. Has worked every time so far.
