Just guessing---but the episode of the guy here whose car "just up and died" (eg no breaks, etc) Something that serious might require disclosure the NTSB...this is, after all, a highly-regulated industry
For sure, but the bias goes both ways. Some seem to expect their DA who is covering 100 customers simultaneously should be able to tell them on a daily basis where there car is in the manufacturing process when they very likely don’t have access to daily updates on that info, expect that the software which is still in version 1.x iteration should be as stable as the most stable OS from competitors, expect that delivery trucks just magically are sitting and waiting at Lucid at all times even though my friend’s AMG E53 sat in a lot for two months after arriving in the US due to the massive truck driver shortage, after taking 5 months to build due to supply chain shortages. The fact that Lucid is delivering built-to-order vehicles in a timeline comparable to Tesla or Mercedes should be acceptable (yes I know Lucid volume is microscopic compared to the competition, but you have to start somewhere, don’t you?). I just see little if any benefit of the doubt being given or perspective beyond “where’s my car, do they have no clue what they’re doing?”
Yea, I don't think we should jump to the conclusion that it is system-wide, despite what I was told about Goose Island. Perhaps it is localized to a batch, but again, let's be clear that speculation is what we do well here!

Back in the good old days of the early spring, the VIN to delivery seemed to be running about 2-3 weeks. Hopefully, they'll get back to those timelines as 6-8 weeks or more just doesn't seem worth giving out a VIN in the first place.
I got mine back then in 2-3 weeks after VIN, then some factory injury causing union strike and then wiring harness recall, PDI reform and some warehouse fire. I hope the assembly line is smoother now. Just saw ad today they are interviewing to add initiate 2nd and 3rd assembly line shifts. Things should move faster with this new 2 new big shots hired from Mercedes Benz and first generation Tesla last week.
Received a returned call this morning. The countdown begins. Home Delivery is scheduled for Friday, August 5
I’m not so sure first generation Tesla people are that great tbh. The first generation Teslas were the worst built weren’t they?
Home Delivery moved up to tomorrow, Wednesday Aug 3 about 2 hours before the Earnings Call. Associate flying into TX from CA to explain the vehicle. Squeezing in one more delivery before the conference call, wonder if there is a push for more with deliveries being made on the 3rd.
Part of me thinks they delayed a lot of cars to be for next quarter because they know they missed this one but if they deliver a bunch suddenly for next quarter they can say “look at all these cars we’ve delivered!”
I can't imagine delivery numbers by the day of the call matter much. Deliveries before the end of the quarter were more important. Unless they try to make the case that "We've already delivered X this quarter" as a way to show a ramp of some sort. Who knows? My guess is they will focus more on production than delivery, as they have in the past.
