There are 33 days left in fall in 2024:
Fall begins
The autumnal equinox, which usually occurs on September 22 or 23, marks the official start of fall. The date of the autumnal equinox shifts each year because Earth takes longer than a calendar year to orbit the sun.
Fall ends
The last day of fall is December 20. After the autumnal equinox, nights get longer than days until the shortest day of the year, the winter solstice, on December 21.
Meteorological autumn
The meteorological calendar defines autumn as September, October, and November, beginning on September 1 and ending on November 30.

Given that last bit of information you shared, I think we need to notify Nick Twork that, for purposes of the Android Auto release, the Lucid Owners Forum has adopted the meteorological calendar of our official seasonal reference guide.

And people wonder why Lucid is usually vague on timelines……things happen out of their control and people hang on every word and annihilate them if it’s off by even a fraction. 😂
They weren't vague a year ago and they weren't vague this summer. It's a publicly traded company so communicated timelines matter. And agreed, they should be more vague to not set expectations. I don't think it gets them much in the way of goodwill to promise anything and fail on delivering. When I buy any other car and it doesn't have Android auto or some other feature, I live with it. If I really wanted that feature, I would have bought a different car or found an aftermarket workaround. Some of us found the potential for future features as a great enticement, "oh yeah that's coming in an update." It's a lesson learned for then- as with any other vehicle- buy for the features it has, not for those promised.

No one with any sense would listen to Lucid's promises. They never come through as promised. Android auto is a perfect example. The Lucid runs on the android platform, yet apple gets the attention? How does this make any sense? Don't start with the Apple is more popular. This is just NOT a fact. You can't make it a fact by saying it over and over again. The US may have a small lead, but Lucid is a worldwide company (remember Saudi Arabia?)...

AI Overview

Android has a larger market share than Apple for mobile operating systems (OS) worldwide, but Apple has a larger share in the United States:

  • Global market share
Android has a larger market share than Apple worldwide, with about 71.65% compared to Apple's 27.62% in the second quarter of 2024.

  • United States market share
Apple has a larger market share in the United States than Android, with 58.1% compared to Android's 41.46% in 2023.

Lucid never comes through as promised. That's your theory?

- They never released CarPlay?
- They never released improved Highway Assist with lane change and restarting after a full stop?
- They never released their 2.0 software?
- They never delivered the $69k Pure?
- They never delivered V2V RangeXChange?
- They never achieved 5.0 efficiency?
- They never announced the availability of Gravity?
- They never began taking orders for Gravity?
- They didn't add NACS to Gravity?

I suppose you are suggesting they will never ship Gravity? They don't fulfill promises, so I guess we're all idiots here for believing they will.

Sounds to me like your theory isn't really holding up under scrutiny.

Ah, but Android Auto. Right. No Android Auto = Lucid never fulfills any promise. Got it.

Funny, I seem to remember Android Auto was supposed to come out when?

Let me check my notes. Fall. Okay. So it must not be Fall anymore.

"Hey Siri, when's the first day of Winter?" Wait. December 21st? "And what day is it today?" November 17th.

Hmm, still Fall.

-----------------
And yeah, your "Android has more market share" argument also doesn't hold water. If it did, I wouldn't make a living making iOS apps for people who put off making the Android version for a year or more later.

You can hate the fact so many companies prioritize Apple's platforms all you like. Doesn't change the fact they all do it for some reason. And that reason isn't merely to upset you. 😀

All kidding aside: Clearly waiting for Android Auto sucks. That's fair. It's been way too long. I'd hate it too.

But as has been mentioned many times on this forum, conversations with those in the know suggest strongly Android Auto was submitted sometime ago, and Lucid is awaiting approval from Google. This is not an overnight process. Anything could go wrong in the approval, which would lead to further tweaks, then another review, then more tweaks, and on and on. This is not something Lucid fully controls, anymore than they controlled the release of CarPlay prior to Apple's approval.

There's also a lot more to the story that we'll likely never hear in full…

But the fact remains, it is Fall. You can say they failed to deliver AA in the Fall as many times as you like, and it still won't make it true. At least not until December 21st.

And even if they end up missing the December 20th deadline, that still doesn't make anyone stupid for believing Android Auto is being worked on and will eventually ship. After all, we have a long history of Lucid releasing plenty of other things they promised.

32 days...
I was going to make this a countdown thread, but given how sensitive everyone is I'm gonna let this one be.

Yeah, I think letting it go is a good move. I'm scratching my head as to what has been going on with this forum lately, and I'm not just speaking to this specific thread. A number of very active names have cropped up lately, and I'm not so bothered by their overwhelmingly negative bias as the caustic and confrontational way that bias is delivered and discussed. On the other side of that equation, that's also somewhat true with how defensively any criticism is received. I used to really enjoy the general information delivered, the problems pointed out, the solutions offered, and even the friendly banter over some of the longer-running frustrations. Not so much anymore.

A lot of us are feeling the same concern. It comes in waves, and then they get bored and go away for a while. My request, and one I have been bad about sometime: don’t feed the trolls. It’s easy to want to, but if you ignore them they really will eventually go away.
