"converting" tesla wall connector to Lucid Home Charging Station.

...Current AL wire is 4AWG rated at 75A. I reminded the company that LHCS requires 2AWG, they will install this instead of the 4AWG copper in the estimate. Looks like they plan to install a 70A subpanel, and at 80% continuous load, that should provide ~ 56A to the LHCS, and I've have them adjust the dip settings accordingly....
The LCHCS uses compression or chair lugs for its wire connections. So there's no problem bringing #4 wire to the LCHCS, and it would be easier to deal with.

The manual technically specifies compression lugs, but chair lugs are just fine. I just wanted to clarify for anyone that might read the manual and be concerned.

Yay!!!

I got the LHCS installed today! I'm so happy and relieved :)

thanks to ALL OF YOU for your help and support!! I really appreciate you guys!

From your advice, I confirmed that they torqued the terminals to the right specs (they initially did not have a torque wrench, and had to go grab one).

Overall, great company, and their approach is very sensible/pragmatic. the subpanel is installed right above the charger to minimize length of copper wire run from subpanel to LCHS. [1st company wanted to rip out and replace 100ft of wire for $7-$10K, depending on replacement conductor type, AL vs Cu]

the setup right now is with a 60A subpanel breaker, and the dip switch was adjusted to 60A. His plan is to install a 70A subpanel CB but he did not have one today, it'll arrive on Monday, the 60A CB is a placeholder. The main panel still has a 100A CB, and he'll replace that with a 70A CB as well on Monday.

The final setup will be: 70A CB at main panel --> Aluminum 4AWG rated at 75A running from main panel to subpanel in garage (home already had this pre-installed) --> 70A subpanel with 2AWG copper wire running from subpanel to LHCS, and then the dipswitch will be set to the 70A circuit breaker size setting.

If anything seems off please let me know so I can bring it up when he returns on Monday.

My charging speeds have increased 16X, from 3mi/hr to 50mi/hr

thanks again for all ur help!
