Constant issues with Lucid SW

If not two years ago. I think Lucid greatly over-promised here. AFAIK there are no AC-V2H bidirectional charging system (EVSE) like Lucid is planning that is currently shipping from any manufacturer. There are some DC-V2H bidirectional systems, a competing approach. Finalizing regulations may have delayed everyone on that particular technology.

Of course, that has nothing to do with back-porting the new UX, nor implementing Android Auto, or many other smaller software things that seemed to take an inordinate amount of time to fix. I assume this is due to resource allocation / constraints, don't know. Wish it was different.

Yeah the inability to deliver on V2H is a legitimate complaint. Of course that’s not why I bought the car, and also AA didn’t affect me due to using Apple CarPlay, but that is another valid complaint, although given how long it took Volvo to get AA who is a MUCH bigger market than Lucid, I’m still not going to point fingers at Lucid for the turtle AA implementation pace.

I feel you OP and I agree with you on a lot of what you said. I don't think you have an unpopular opinion, the UI and SW are indeed subpar. I'm also a new owner and I've already made posts like this. When you ask for help with mobile key and people say "use a FOB like your grandpa did", that is them agreeing with you.

But you have to remember where you are, and your posts come off more like a rant that people aren't going to be able to rally around. Nor can anyone really do anything about it other than hope right along with you and try to determine user error.

Well sure, you can ditch ‘grandpa’s’ old custom and use your phone. Of course that might mean constant bitching about how miserable the software is & how delayed door openings are, but hey, at least you’re not doing what grandpa did!

Instead, at least in my case, call me ‘grandpa’, a grandpa who never has issues with door openings because he carries a tiny, virtually weightless fob in his pocket.

So many more important things in life than the ‘burden’ of carrying the lightest, smallest fob I’ve ever used in any car I’ve owned.

Haha I like that you bolded a part of my quote and then replied in a manner that had nothing to do with my point. Let me try.

Hyperbole doesn’t help though. The faraday bag is only needed if your key is in close enough proximity in your house to continually communicate with the car and thus run down the battery. So if for some reason you did need the Faraday bag, then your battery would last quite some time. I don’t have one and my fob battery lasts about 4 months. Is that ideal? No. Is it something that can be fixed on this generation of Air? Also no. Again I’m not saying the passive unlock system for the Air is great, it can be a little annoying sometimes. Oh well. If one can’t handle having that light fob in their pocket (my Volvo one is bulkier and impossible to see which button is lock and unlock cuz they’re both very small silver with high glare) then they probably aren’t very good at handling other minor inconveniences in their life either.

I literally do exactly zero of these things. No hyperbole needed.

Hyperbole sure is fun though; until you’re alone and out of breath, but that’s just me.

My fob has had the same bitterant-free battery in it for a year, and it works. No faraday bag required, because I keep my fob nowhere near my car. If I didn’t, I’d turn off passive unlock and hit the door handle, because hitting the door handle to unlock is not that hard and solves my problem.

None of those make me your grandpa. They are just workarounds instead of tantrums.

As for “coping with a product that never improves”? Well, I’ll just let the chorus of collective eye rolls speak for themselves.

If you’re talking exclusively about the fob, okay; it actually has improved over time, but is not where I’d like it to be. Still won’t sell the car over it.
