Charging Port Door

Mine takes a firm press in the lower right hand corner. But I usually use the cockpit button, or phone app, or (I think) watch app.

I use the button on the left cockpit panel touchscreen, because pressing that spot always just feels wrong. Like I'm going to make it loose over time or something.
Full turn off sequence you have to remember with this car...haha. First you gotta mute your music, then you have to open the charge port door from the screen and THEN get out. And pray the doors don't lock while you're grabbing the charger 😂

Music turns off when the car locks.

yea that's way too late, if i get out of the car and grabbing something from the trunk, the music is still thumping out loud. Embarrassing if you're in a public parking lot

It's so engrained in me at this point, I don't even think about it anymore.

I have always manually turned off my music in every car I've ever owned. Because I hate autoplay with the heat of a thousand suns. I'm just glad the Lucid (and CarPlay) respects that stop and doesn't attempt to blast music back in my face when I get back in later. I'll never understand people who want that.

And I guess decades of popping gas covers just makes it habitual for me. I always have something in the frunk, anyway, so I just pop both buttons when I get home every day.

A lot better than tapping a random corner fifteen times with a thick cable in your hands when you just want to grab your backpack and move on with your life.

I find that you have to push it. Simply touching (like the location Rivian has for their vehicles) doesn't open it.
Try pressing in the center near the bottom edge. I wasn't able to open it pressing towards the bottom right but pressing bottom center works consistently for me.

So that is why my fantom blue charge door does not open! I thought I had to take it in for service!

Does anyone know how to "manually" open the charging port if the standard operating protocols have truly failed?
Asking the question because this has been reported for the EQS and mine is going to service tomorrow for this very problem.
Good thing that the car isn't on a road trip.

The manual tells us how to do this:

Thanks, Neil.
Hope I’d never need to do this as I don’t know how difficult it’s to lift the port door up. I’m considering having in the car the door panel pryer just in case.
Zero difficulty. Try it once to convince yourself.

Not sure if my charge port door is functioning properly. When the charge port opens, it doesn't stay open long. It closes almost immediately. I haven't timed it but it feels like the charge port door stays open for about 5 seconds. That causes problems because I often press the charge port door icon on the Cockpit Panel while standing outside of the car. I then have to hurry and plug the charging handle in to the charging port or else it will close. If I'm not quick enough the port door will close and I have to do the whole process over again. Shouldn't the charger port door stay open for at least 30 seconds? Shouldn't it stay open long enough to get out of your car and plug in the handle?

Another thing about the charging door is when I plug in the charging handle, the door will start to move up as if it's closing. When the port door meets the charging handle it stops in place with port door touching the charging handle. Is that normal?

My car's charging port door doesn't give me enough time to insert the charging handle and when the handle is inserted it seems to want to close. I feel like the port door should stay open fully retracted while the charging handle is inserted.

Sounds like you need to have it looked at. Mine stays open for enough time for me to exit the car and grab the EA charger cable and then extend it enough to reach the port and install it. Never timed it but haven't had a problem so I'm guessing at least 30 seconds or more.

Thanks! Does your port door stay retracted while its charging? I'll call my local service center and let them know about the issue.
