My Cosmos Silver, 20 inch wheels and Tahoe interior GT is being confirmed this week. I am still confused over charging...if I buy the ChargePoint Home Flex to replace my Tesla wall charger (60 amp ckt) and hardwire it, I should be able to charge at 48amp. My question...what plug do you need to fit the Lucid? I assume the Lucid is CSS but the ChargePoint home unit seem to only come with a J1772 plug. I prefer not to use an adapter.

That is the one. It is not UL certified as far as I know. I got the info from this forum. I also have heard that Lucid is not keen on using this but others on this forum have used this and the Tesla Tap adapter with no problems. Could have detrimental effect on Lucid warranty if a problem did occur. Personally, since Lucid does not have a formal approved charger, this is the best bet. I have not used it yet since my GT has not arrived yet. I am anxiously awaiting and still hopeful for 2022 delivery but all I have received is a call about the tax credit. It was not a SA or DA but a corporate person saying that Lucid was reviewing the tax credit problem. Of course, the email has since been sent about this...;.and this forum noted the "may" wording so today the House reviews and votes so we shall see.

@Sandvinsd can you recommend (DM me) an electrician to install a breaker and the Chargepoint Flex
I used Zapp electric when I had the most recent 240 outlet installed. They did not hardwire an EVSE, but they could easily do it. They had the best pricing and did a clean job. I would use them again. I’ll have to go back and see who I used several years ago when I installed the first 240 outlet.

Finally received my ChargePoint Home Flex today (ordered on 8/12/22) .. but looks like I'll be giving the Lectron [Only for J1772 EVs] Tesla to J1772 Charging Adapter a try since my Air GT will be delivered on Monday and I can't get an electrician out here until Wed.

The lectron and TeslaTap adapters work fine. Really no need to even get a new charger. I changed the charger at my home out but using the adapter at my cottage. No difference.

I want that Lucid 2-way charger as a home upgrade. But otherwise, I am using a ChargePoint charger that my state subsidized. It worked fine with my Tesla and seems to be equally fine with my GT. I bet you can’t go wrong with the default model your location is subsidizing. And free or almost free goes a long way!

So, today I was told by a delivery specialist that I should NOT use a Tesla Wall Connector (w/ a J1772 adapter) under any circumstances as I would void the warranty.
Obviously, raises a lot of questions for me, but wanted to see if
1. - anyone else was told the same thing
2. - has had any issues w/ using the Tesla Connector w/ adapter .. including any battery degradation
3. - anyone knew why a Tesla [home] wall connector (not a supercharger) would affect the Lucid Air battery.

Thanks

A little bit of me thinks it's pretty poor of Lucid to say this and not have shipped their own EVSE solution yet. They just don't want to involved when someone's Lectron or TeslaTap mini decides to melt and takes the car's connector with it.

I can't help but wonder if that statement is coming from experience from a customer. Maybe someone (not on this forum clearly) had a TeslaTap melt their car, and they want to discourage anyone from running into the same issue?

I can totally see why they wouldn't want to be held responsible for it. Then again, is this Tesla charger specific? Are they going to void anyone else who happens to use ChargePoint, or some other third-party charger? I doubt it. My guess is this is directly related to the Tesla adapters specifically. As the Tesla charger was not built to charge other cars, technically. So it is a bit of a hack.

I hope they clarify the policy at some point.

isn't it because none of those adapter are UL rated?

I’ve used the TeslaTap highest rated adapter for several months without issue. Has anyone read this warning anywhere in the owner’s manual?

Mercedes guys discouraged using the adapter, too. They‘re worried about electrical compatibility, whatever that means.

FYI .. quick update ..
Seems like the Chargepoint HomeFlex chargers are in stock.
whereas my first Chargepoint HomeFlex took 4.5 weeks (8/12-9/14), the one I just ordered on 9/20, shipped out the next day on 9/21 and the expected delivery is 9/27 (1 week).

My ChargePoint CHP50 was installed many moons ago. Today, I've been trying to verify what amp the electrician set it as, and I couldn't find the info in my app or the web account.
Does anyone know how I can look this up?
Thanks.

According to the instructions, the electrician was supposed to put a label by the circuit breaker. Mine didn’t so I had to call them and confirm. Mine was at 50amps

You can download the ChargePoint Service Pro App that will allow you to configure the settings.

You could go to your breaker and then multiply by 0.8 to get the amps. This is assuming it was set up properly.

I ended up calling CP last night. They looked up the serial number, verified that the breaker was at 60 amp, and said mine was set at 50 amp. This sounded weird to me because 60 x 0.8= 48, not 50.
