Boy I really stirred up a hornets nest with this post. To be fair I had some of the same pro and con thoughts when I first read this article. Car and Driver definitely lean more towards how fun the car is to drive, how well it does what it was intended to do (like a truck) etc. They rarely get into the weeds of reliability, service experience, owners surveys, as that is Consumer Reports game. For me, when my Gravity is working properly, without software glitches, second row seat issues, etc., it is the best car I have ever driven. My son who is a huge car guy agrees. But when issues pop up and service is impossible to reach and repairs takes month+, my elation with the car starts to diminish. The only design/engineering hardware issue I have with the Gravity is the second row seat and the rear hatch that I constantly bonk my head on. In my almost one year of ownership, the software has improved significantly, but still has a way to go (AR HUD, PAAK, etc.) but on the bad side, the Service Center experience has gone backwards.
And for those of you who did not get the “Turn it to 11” joke and want to continue to argue, push away from the computer, go grab a beer and put on the movie Spinal Tap.
