Beyond the honeymoon

It'll be 2 years for me on Valentine's Day. Our honeymoon isn't close to ending. We're in the dead of winter here in PA and she's on 21's which means I haven't had the pleasure of driving her much since Thanksgiving and I'm quite grumpy because of it.

I'm ready to cheat on my wife with a new boo that has a little more junk in the trunk and can handle some rougher roads. The ability to twerk will also be a plus.

Still in the honeymoon phase. I was only 1 week into ownership and on a rainy night a white BMW 540i pulled even with me at a stop light the same day I had switched to all-season tires. Open road ahead but I wasn't thinking of racing on such a night and kept it in Smooth. But when the light turned green the BMW peeled off and I said to myself "OK, I guess we're doing this", shifted to Swift, and went after him. With even a 1-2 second head-start I smoked him within 200 yards, then promptly slowed down going through the next yellow light (he got caught on the red 🤣). Good thing, too, because there was a speed trap right over the next hill 😅

Haha my favorite story is some dude in a Huracan pulled up next to me and made eyes; open road, late and nobody around for miles. I switched into Sprint and brought the bear up. Smoked him handily, and my radar immediately starts blaring. I slam on the brakes. He… doesn’t, presumably thinking he has smoked me.

A quarter mile later he’s got lights behind him and I head home calm as a clam. :)

I typically drive my GT Performance in Smooth. When I want to go fast, I switch to Sprint. I do this on a few roads that are long stretches of straight. My kids also LOVE Sprint mode and lift go their arms as if they were on a roller coaster.

I’ve only had my Lucid one month but it has not gotten old. I had a Model 3 (upgraded to BOOST so 0-60 in 3.6 seconds… and that never got old. My GT performance is amazing with 0-60 in just 2.6 seconds. I do not see that ever getting old! LOL. 😆
