Are We Asking the Wrong Question About Charging?

3.6 to 3.7 miles/kWh is the average amongst owners who responded to the surrvey in this forum. I don't doubt you CAN get the EPA mileage if you drive 60mph on a (relatively) flat road with no elevation change in good weather. But, that's not how most of us encounter in real-life. As many have noted, crapy weather (here) means colder temperatures, with wind etc., not just cloudy weather and rain. The 250 AGT might indeed perform a little better.

I think that’s at least part of it…the heat pump definitely helps a lot. I also think driving style plays a huge role — far more than people generally accept. I don’t ever drive 60 mph on the highway (of course I rarely drive 80 either) LOL and I live in a rather hilly part of the state, so I don’t know what to tell you. The 3.7 I’ve done thus far has been in largely suboptimal conditions. Not the worst conditions, mind you (no snow and no brutally cold temps yet), but heat on and temps in the low 30’s with rain is enough to provide a serious hit to range…

Just recently finished a day of driving in Oklahoma which ended after 2 tows. I charged expecting to get 70% actual mileage out of the charge which has been our experience. Unfortunately I got under 50% and was stuck in the middle of nowhere on I-40 with not enough charge to get to any charging stations. I know some of that is my fault but the stars were not aligned that day. Low 20’s with 30-40 mph crosswinds had to put the windchill around zero. Normal driving pattern of around 80 mph. I won’t make that mistake again.
I must say Lucid came through arranging a tow at their expense to the nearest charging station. Unfortunately I let the tow truck driver leave before I confirmed at least one of the 4 charging stalls was operating. None of them were! So back on the phone with Lucid and they agreed, again at their expense after a little back and forth, to tow me to the nearest Electrify America charging station which worked at least for one of the 150kwh chargers (none of them 350kwh chargers would connect-that’s another story). I don’t want to go through that experience again to say the least!

This is why I am so glad Gravity has native NACs. It will make your experience much more rare.

Sorry this happened to you.
