Android Auto Thursday

In the context of Android Auto Thursday, that quote feels like the five stages of grief...
Depending on the route Lucid's nav takes me or how many times my suction cup falls off during a trip, I seem to flip between bargaining and acceptance.

I was definitely bargaining during the software wishlist.

Happy Android Auto Thursday!!!!!!

Just remember that “It's easy finding reasons why other folks should be patient.” - George Eliot

Is it Thursday today? My patience is getting so good I almost entirely forgot.

Man that's nice. I hate when siri dictates a long text message with a URL in it for example...h...t..t...p...:.../ ugh shut up already!

Come on owners impatiently waiting for AA. AA is number 4 on Bobby's wishlist survey. I know we are a minority here with all the Apple fan people, but if we put all our virtual chips on it, maybe we can push it to the top 😊.

To be fair, that's pretty damn good given that only 23% of us Air owners on the forum are Android (based on the results of the Bug Survey).
True. And even some of us Air owners waiting for AA also want sentry mode and dash cam. I had to split my 100 points up.

That’s because a lot of us iPhone users voted for AA, too. Because we took pity on you and want to see you as happy as we are.

We voted for it for more selfish reasons. I voted for it so that I would not have to read complaints about not having AA.

True. I voted for it too.

My *guess* is that the number of true Android users for Lucid is less than 10%

Won’t stay that way forever, and especially in Saudi

I put 100 points into CarPlay2, let the world burn!

I see this thread is 42 pages long. Can someone summarize what the status of android auto is? I had read articles online that android auto and carplay were both coming to Lucid. My wife's iphone connected to carplay right away, but there doesn't seem to be android auto support. That is a complete dealbreaker for me, and will be the reason I don't buy the car at the end of my lease (and tell my friends to not get a lucid) if it isn't fixed soon. This alone has taken my enthusiasm of the car from a 10 to a 3. Needing to mount my phone in order to have reasonable navigation is infuriating.

I don't want any car's crappy built-in nav. BMW nav sucks. Audi nav sucks. Lucid nav sucks. Just let me use my phone and display it.
I don't want to use Alexa. Just let me use what my phone has built in.
I don't want Lucid to try to fumble through reading my texts. Just use what the phone has built in.
I don't want Lucid's poor integration with Spotify. Let me use what the phone already has.

Still coming...though I'm surprised if it was a deal breaker you moved forward with your lease.

...well that's an interesting welcome to the forum post. I've never heard of someone loving AA so much, and there's a lot of angst in this thread.

Also, if you want the best quality audio, you'll want to use the built-in music apps, especially Tidal for the Atmos encodings (if you spring for SS Pro).

Customer service confirmed it is still being worked on, despite AA no longer being mentioned on the website. It's pure speculation, but my guess would be that they will prioritize AA being made available for Gravity deliveries/press later this year.

Yeah, I didn't ask the associate about it. I incorrectly assumed that all brands support it (especially cutting-edge tech cars). I don't regret the lease or the decision, it is just embarrassing to show off the car to people and need to have my phone mounted. I used the built-in nav once and it made me 30 minutes late because it apparently didn't factor in traffic.

Is that the secret? I do have SS Pro (it was a free upgrade), and have been very underwhelmed by the audio quality. I'm not an audiophile so it isn't super important to me, but even with the bass turned all the way up there is no kick to it.

If phone integration is really important to you, and you have committed to Lucid, I seriously suggest you consider an iPhone. People get very territorial about this but it is currently the only way to achieve the goals you have.
