2025 pure
Looks like this has been discussed several years ago, but the think/clunk/grinding feeling while hitting the accelerator from a stop is a joke. It’s wild this is acceptable on this come. Got into a 2025 pure a few days ago and I’m shocked by how awful this feels. I didn’t notice it during the test drive so it may be my cat, but man it’s god awful. Coming from a sub $40k model 3 it feels significantly worse. The Tesla did one pedal driving and I assumed, I suppose wrongly, this was a basic driving dynamic Lucid would’ve had no issues with. Anyone else seeing the same thing?

Hyperbole much?

It’s a brake release. Yeah, you can feel it, but it’s just a brake release. Easy to forget three seconds later when you are at 60 mph.

Would you mind taking a video so we can hear what you’re referring to? I have learned different people have different definitions for what a thunk is, etc., and it would help us figure out if what you’re seeing/hearing is normal or unusual.

My wife likes the "hold" feature and I like the "roll" feature. When I drove the Air home from delivery the thunk was driving me crazy, so I get the OP's perspective, but its just a few buttons away from solved. I understand the mechanics of what is happening, but it does seem like a primitive solution from the otherwise excellent NVH standard that this car sets. We had the same disagreement in our Tesla, but this was one of many settings tied to our profiles so it was never an issue. Lucid really needs to make the retained profile settings considerably more robust than they are.

Nope, Lucid has the best accelerator/brake/regen in the business. Don't know what you are referring to. Its mile ahead of any Tesla in driving dynamics- including the model S.

I love the hold feature you refer to, which holds the brake pedal down for you at a stop. It has nothing to do with one-pedal driving. Yes, it clicks like ABS kicking in when you press the accelerator. Part of the package, and if it doesn't bother me a bit. If it does for you, turning it off in the settings is very easy. Let us know if you need any help to do that. I disagree with the comparison against the model 3. Many have come from Tesla S and other higher-end cars and love their Lucid.

I completely agree. Profiles really needs a rethink. But I've been tooting that horn for a while now. I really hope something good is in the works.

If it’s the cat, just kick it out of the car. Problem solved. 🤣

I love it when someone new shows up, posts something like this OP and then disappears. No follow-up, no further explanation…just a bit of whining and then…poof…gone.

And to compare the Air to a Model 3 in any serious way? C’mon man…I owned a M3P for six years / 68k miles. Lovely car, but it’s in a whole different class than an Air…
