A call from my DA

Trucking not a problem when you have nothing ready to ship…

Lucid typically puts covers on the cars when they are just sitting there. No covers to me and the location where they are sitting tells me they are either missing something or awaiting inspections.
That’s what I think. Up until the past 2-3 flyovers you would see almost all the cars covered. Now you see only a few covered.
To me that’s not a good sign. I don’t think they would ship cars on haulers without coverings since they’ve covered them from day one.

Well, it could be 2-fold. Either they have nothing to ship, or where they are shipping to can't receive. We know since there is a stoppage on deliveries, why would they ship to a service center where there is no space to receive or do PDI.

Do we really know there is a stoppage on deliveries? Do we know why? Maybe I missed something. I’ve heard yes and no.

I would think if they were ready to ship, they would be covered and just queue up in the lower lot if the service centers couldn’t receive them.

If they were ready to ship, they would use the staging lot farthest from the factory, where we have seen them loading trucks in the past and cover the cars, like they did in the past.

I think it is both though, nothing ready at Casa Grande and the SC’s too full to take incoming.

I was told there was a stoppage due to the factory QC issues that had to be fixed at the service centers. The only center apparently not affected is Houston. They are slowly working their way through the cars, but each one takes a couple of days to inspect and fix. Hoping I'll get mine soon, since it's been over 3 weeks since it got to the SC.

One thing seems sure. This delay for whatever reasons can’t be good from the perspective of Lucid making their numbers they stated at the earnings call. That being 12,000-14,000 vehicles this year.

They only ever said "produce" haha

When were you told this?

I wonder what they are inspecting and what’s being fixed ? Did something get missed in manufacturing?

I was told by the studio in Virginia that the east coast cars are shipped to some place called castle island or something like that then directly to me. The Virginia studio sends someone to meet me and the car at my home. That the car doesn’t go to a service center after leaving manufacturing. Did the process change in the past 2-3 weeks?

Yes, generally, cars for the northeast and midwest are shipped to Chicago (Goose Island if I remember correctly). Cars for southeast are shipped to Riviera Beach in Florida. Cars for south central US are shipped to Houston. West coast has a potpourri of options. I think Goose Island and Riviera Beach are both Service Centers, so I am not sure how you reconcile that. My understanding was that the PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspections) are done at Service Centers. Makes sense if they find anything.

What has changed in the past few weeks is the number and magnitude of the inspections. It does appear that something happened, or did not happen in Casa Grande to cause this, but it is really just speculation for the most part as Lucid has not been too open with details. There has been a bit of talk about panel gap issues. What took a certain amount of time prior to the end of April now takes much longer and they are having to go through the process on quite a number of cars. So, I see this as a three-pronged issue; getting the cars in the Service Centers inspected fixed and delivered; inspecting and fixing the cars at Casa Grande that were produced before the changes so they can go to the Service Center; and resuming whatever the new normal is.

Not sure lawsuit affect Chicago Service Center

Is there a "service center" in Denver that is performing the repairs as well?

Nothing in Denver yet. Scottsdale, AZ is the closest service center.

Interesting...My DA told me my car was in Denver for secondary inspection. Those of us that have paid for the car a month ago with no information from the company are in a unique situation. The lack of communication is highly unprofessional at best and perhaps tortious. Why do you suppose the refuse to communicate with us? Any ideas?

I’m at Houston Service Center to troubleshoot my charging cable and showed them the recall notice. They told me it only affects certain batch of production, but not my batch. So I guess I’m lucked out? Meanwhile, I’m joying the waiting lounge.

What happened with your charging cable?

What happened with your charging cable?
Not getting power thru charging. They claimed my 110v outlets issue. They tested theirs ok. They offered fast charge back to 89% and car wash.

Did they use your 110v cable for the test? If so and it appears ok do you have a volt meter at home to test your plug?
