560 Miles In - Black Screens

Yes, agreed that my particular case of the two blank screens is more likely a hardware issue - was thinking that yesterday as I tried another hard reboot, but the two dead screens don't light up at all (i.e. it's not that they are "on but blank" - they appear entirely off at all times). So I suppose I would amend my complaint to be more around the software/electronics as an overall sub-system, in contrast with the rest of the physical build and performance of the car.

More distressing though is my in ability to get any kind of service center appointment or diagnosis at all until October, well over a month away! I reached out again last night asking for any updates and was told that the other bigger service center here (Torrance) also cannot book any appts until over a month out.

I've continued to text with the service tech at Beverly Hills to ask if they can at least confirm if the car is safe to drive. With so much of the functionality completely inaccessible, I don't really have any way to know just "how broken" it is. Should I be driving it at all? Obviously not ideal without any of the cameras or other active safety systems working, but hey, I've driven cars for a while and don't *need* those kinds of features. But it still seems unwise to jump in what's essentially a big heavy electronic device that's malfunctioning in unknown ways and get on the highway........

If I were you, I would tell them the car does not feel safe to drive and ask for it to be towed to a service center and for them to provide a loaner / rental until the issue is fixed.

I believe rear view cameras are a requirement nowadays for new vehicles, so that being inoperable is evidence enough that it does not pass safety standards.

At least where I am, disabled vehicles are towed into the service center, sometimes they get priority service, but at least you get a loaner.
