A few software bugs I’ve noticed

On the seat easy access, my seat needed to be rehomed 3x by service until they ended up replacing it. Haven't had a easy access issue since.

Wow the title is misleading. I am surprised at how much the little things (in my eyes) bother people to no end.
It is amazing EXCEPT that what meets the definition of "little things" varies widely. One of my objections to Tesla is that the company doesn't offer many options. Tesla decides how you should like your car and take it or leave it. For example, at least offering a HUD option would make living with no screen in front of you more acceptable. But...no such option.

The good thing now is that there are so many choices and each of us can arrange our requirements and desires as we like to find the vehicle that most closely meets them. Sedan vs. crossover? Large vs. small? Internal surfaces (seats, headliner, knobs and switches. etc.)? Power? Range? Info system? Etc. It is no longer only Tesla and Leaf.

To some, having a HUD is not that important. To me it was essential but I was willing to skip it for the Lucid because the Lucid Air display is in my mind a quasi HUD (but I still would have preferred a HUD). Without one or the other, to me it would be a deal breaker.

Question: I’ve decided that I’m going to try and start from scratch. I’ve reset the network settings on my phone, deleted the phone and mobile key from the car and deleted both the CarPlay Bluetooth and the mobile key Bluetooth. So, when I set it all back up does it matter what order I set up CarPlay and the Mobile key, i.e., should I set up one before the other?
Bummer but after doing all of this it still doesn’t work

This is spot on. I also would like a HUD but am okay with the Lucid for the same reasons. And in my case, the mobile key is really important and far from a little thing. And easy entry is also important because I'm tired of hitting my head haha.

FWIW: I have had my air GT for a year and have encountered many minor glitches that are of little real consequence. I have not had any issues the hindered my ability to use the car.

my biggest issues are a persistent rattle from the rear view mirror housing, my inability to find a good seating position and the huge gap between claimed range versus real range.

I am not going to whine about how the easy entry sometimes doesn't move my seat into position or how sometimes I need to force carplay to start. the only time my FOB failed was when the battery ran down, fortunately the phone app or the key card will get you into the car. few if any of the newer cars that are loaded with tech operate to perfection.

To help identify my mobile key issue, I'm going to buy a cheap prepaid Android phone and see if that is able to pair as a mobile key. If it does, then I know it's likely an iOS app issue. If it doesn't then it's clearly a car issue.

It's going to be a car issue almost certainly.

For people that read Consumer Reports, this thread is exactly what distinguishes a top rated pick and Lucid. They are both good cars, but the things that some discount as inconsequential are in fact the reliability differentiators. Sure, in the larger context of life in the modern world, these are minor, but it's precisely the failure of low level functionality that is so maddening.

When the first interaction with the car every morning is a reminder that Lucid can't get the most fundamental processes right, the long term perception of the brand is indistinguishable from cars with "real" issues. Discount new Lucid owners perception all you want, but low reliability ratings are going to be the anchor that keeps the brand stuck in port.

Agreed. I have the same problem.
I have both Android (Pixel 7) and Apple (iPhone 15) set as mobile keys. It’s definitely a car issue. I’ve exhaustively tested both, reset, repair, etc. and both work but still have inconsistent wake and connection issues. Both work as mobile keys but the inconsistencies are what’s annoying. Resorted to joining team FOB again…

Nicely put. What is more worrying to me is that I'm seeing new people on the forum saying wtf. People that are not hardcore believers, stock owners or early adopters willing to put up with anything. They are in for a nasty surprise, unless they get lucky.

Nicely put, and I agree with you.

Well I was able to pair an Android phone as a mobile key and so while it may be a car issue, for me it’s limited to iOS devices. For me my iPhone 14 Pro Max, my wife’s iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPad Pro were all NOT able to pair as a mobile key, but my Android phone was able to. The question is whether Lucid will ever be able to figure this out.

This is actually curious that none of your iOS devices were to pair. Some obvious questions are all the devices updated to the latest iOS, did you check all your Bluetooth settings on each device, and did you remove all your previous connection(s) or attempts AND reboot your devices before attempting to re-pair to your car? This one is a wild case.

It is very curious indeed. I'm pretty tech savvy and have been really baffled, but I just got the following message from my Lucid salesman (the car is only 5 days old) and so it seems like it's an issue for the new cars:

"I am sorry to hear of your issues and I am confident the team will assist in finding solutions. You are now one of 4 of my recent deliveries reporting this exact behavior with the mobile key and app so it seems customer care may be on to something. We will continue to monitor the progress."

To answer your questions, the phones are on different iOS versions - mine is updated to the latest but my wife's is a bit behind. The iPad is a different iOS altogether. I did go through all those steps very carefully multiple times (and even more). At least now I know I'm not going nuts!

My iPhone is updated to the latest iOS, and hasn’t had any issues. I’m brave and leave the physical key at home. But with how many are experiencing this (at least the vocal ones on the forum) maybe I should bring the potato chip along.

Please excuse the sorry state of the screen… forgot the microfiber spray at home.

I think the current issue is only impacting linking a mobile key for the first time and it may even be limited to only the newest cars being delivered.

I don’t know if it related but I also keep getting this “no internet connection” message in the app (it comes after it says “waking up” for awhile).
