2.8.0 Software Update

No 2.8.0 Update for mine yet, still on 2.7.1.
I wonder if they address the "usually no audio" problem that occurs in the 2.7.1 drop that requires a soft-reset before every drive?

Yes!! Got the 2.8.0 update, just in time for the trip on Friday. Installing now. That means, I can set up a slower amp charge the night before to get to 100% in the morning just before I leave AND I can have true hands free driving up I-5.

Installation finished in 2hrs. Have to go for a drive in 1hr, will report how

Okay, what happened!

Lucid knocked the ball out of the park. No one will believe this is their first iteration of Handsfree; it’s that perfect. The car was planted and very confident than me. I drove with zero issues.

Distance: 35 miles on I-4 (between Orlando and Tampa, with less traffic).

I’ll go with what’s missing first: there’s no automatic lane change unless you trigger the signal. Some zones are not yet marked for handsfree (a complex intersection with a sharp curve and multiple lanes joining). Maybe Lucid is being curious and unmarking them.

Positives: I’m very confident in the marked zones.

Following lines are way better than previous versions, even at sharp curves.

I found this surprising: it detected construction and mentioned it, asking me to take control. It disabled hands-free, but Drive Assist is still active.
It monitors you. I closed my eyes, and it caught me.
I closed one eye, and it caught me. 🙂
I closed one eye half, and you know what happened. 😅

If they call it the first version, I couldn’t wait for the coming versions. I need them!

Thank you very much to the Lucid team for their efforts. They put it into this and made it almost perfect. I’ll keep posting my findings back home if anything changes. 😊

Got it robustly, and it functions GREAT, robustly. It's the update I've been waiting for.

[I have just one complaint: it said it would take two hours to install, and it was actually 2:02. I can't think of a good excuse for misestimating this critical time interval. How long do we have to deal with problems like this?]

Apparently the Millbrae Service Center did the update on my car. That makes me happy because I'm sure they will do a thorough test drive to make sure it is functioning as it should.

Maybe it’s a leap year

I just finished installing 2.8.0 as well. Install went smoothly. I won’t have a chance to try the hands free drive assist yet, but I’m glad to hear positive news from the early reports above!

Updated our vehicles, only too 52 mins. Can’t wait to test it out tomorrow!!

'22 GT with DDPro got the update last night around 11pm'ish EDT, similar timeframe to yesterday's posts. Updated via App, excited to try it this morning.

This is great. So I guess they removed the the frunk strut adjustment from the update. It’s the only thing I was looking forward to.
Same here. I don't have ddpro and I don't need to throttle my home charger and I don't use tesla super chargers so I can basically skip this update for fear it might break something. Haha.

I received the update sometime in the middle of the night. 4% on the install.

I can’t wait to try it out and I even like the software update animation in the app!

2.8.0 being installed as I update this group here. It is expected to take 2 hrs time for completion. Looking forward to a better drive. This time they didn't deliver Rubistness, so I'll be cautious while using new functionality for some time 😃😁

It may be as much as 2 hours and 2 minutes according to @sansonoma , not just two hours. Lucid is definitely hiding something about those extra two minutes, and they aren't saying what. It's very suspicious that these extra two minutes are happening just before the earning call and no one knows why. It makes me so angry that this is happening AGAIN.

Had over 250 miles left on the battery when I parked and downloaded the software update. Now my mobile app is saying I have zero battery charge and car is offline. Now everything reset and it's back to normal. Scary for a bit there.
