2.8.0 Software Update

To all the people that went haywire in this thread over a few days, you need to dial it back. Get a hobby. Calm down. I know they said the 30th, today is the 4th. They missed it by three business days. Have you ever missed a deadline in your life? Of course. Let’s give Lucid a break, I know for sure that they are trying very hard to please us all.
I respect all that you've contributed, and I normally agree with you on most things...but I have to disagree with this one (depending on where you're defining as "haywire.") I agree that hysterics aren't productive, however, I do think this was poor execution. As others have pointed out, it was their choice to call formally announce a rollout date.

They could've let the community know that the rollout was being delayed briefly, but was still imminent. Even without another formal date, I know with certainty that it would've gone over better than being silent.

Hands free is a highly anticipated function. Dangling that carrot of a formal launch date then saying nothing as it came and went was not the best approach. Telling owners to 'get a hobby' is harsh.

With all that said, I'm ecstatic to see it rolling out.

No offense, but it would be great if you would stop telling people how they should feel about things. You do this all the time and it is tedious.
Yeah, in reality @Bobby shouldn’t have said “calm down” but instead should have mentioned the glaring lack of coping mechanisms many people have when they don’t get what they want when they expected to get it. So I’m not gonna tell people how to feel, but rather to suggest trying breathing exercises, yoga, mindfulness, perhaps look at the Gravity serenity display (if it’s functional) and try to embrace the universe and all its imperfections, disappointments and also rewards. Don’t make me post the Carl Sagan Pale Blue Dot video…..

I loved Carl Sagan and I have the Pale Blue Dot book. He died prematurely. Loss to everyone.

UAE Air sitting on the sideline...

To anyone wondering, took just under (the stated) 2 hours to install.

I usually get the updates on day 3 or 4 and here it is day 4. Do you all normally get it on day 1?

While I know it’s a far cry from the realm of work I dabbled in (Special Operations units deployed in combat zones), the fact of the matter is words mean things. If I were to send up a SITREP (situational report) to a higher echelon of command they are expecting my communication to be accurate, not a best guess of the situation at hand.

Granted, unexpected turn of events do take place but could be communicated in a timely manner (ie social media post) to feed the hunger from the loyal Lucid customers we all are. In any sense, 2.8 is now rolling out so all I well that ends well. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I downloaded mine this afternoon and saw the message 'Hands free driving is enabled' on my way home, but I only spent 10 minutes on the highway, so, didn't have much of a chance to test it

Yeah, but you didn't crash, right. That's good! (I may have tamped down my expectations for this lol)

I once told my wife to calm down. I don’t think she is coming back.
well, at least you lived to tell the story.. I don't think I will get that chance if I told my wife to calm down :)

Glad to see 2.8.0 making it, and eager to see how it does on hands-free.

You folks showing that you've received 2.8.0, and it's working fine, must be lying or hiding something. I heard the OTA was late and that nobody has it. Oh, and that zero Gravities shipped as well.

I can confirm that zero Gravities were delivered to me this week.

There's still hope, we have Neil. He puts me to sleep every night, telling the world about his far-out adventures.

Ahh, you mean Neil deGrasse Tyson. I initially thought you meant that great moderator, @Adnillien.

Glad to hear the update is rolling out. I'm looking forward to receiving it.

Kudos to the lucid team on the string of recent software/hardware updates (drive assist, AA, processor hardware etc).

Hopefully, sentry mode/dashcam isn't too far out.
