2.8.0 Software Update

I noticed the same exact behavior from today's morning with "vehicle offline" status in the app. Luckily, I didn't take Luciana to work today as garage was blocked in the morning.
Back to normal. Vehicle no longer showing offline. The app and waking up behaves normally now.

Go out and try to press on the frunk deck lid right above where the L and D are in LUCID. Give that a good simultaneous shove and see if the sensor triggers and thinks the frunk is closed now? Ideally do this after you open and close it once.

If it remains the case, you may need your frunk latches replaced, but a good shove may fix it.
Both me and the tech did this at different times but the error didn't clear. The tow truck driver came and took it, so now I'm set up with a rental. I'll probably wait until after I get an update from the service center though, I live super close to it and am currently working from home so if they can resolve it quickly I might not even need the rental.

Their customer service has been quite good, though the entire experience is annoying to deal with. It's the first time I've had an issue with the car in the 9 months I've had it, which isn't terrible for a vehicle that has so much tech in it (though not great, either).

Did a 40 mile hwy test drive on 2.8 right after I received it. The hands off driving was very solid and the passing worked very well also. The only time the car seemed at all unsure was driving in the right lane and having an onramp with no lines (for a long time) coming in from the right. The car didn’t do anything bad but it just didn’t feel as solidly in charge as it was on the rest of the test drive. Driving hands free was great and will be fantastic on long highway trips. OBTW - I had sunglasses on the entire time and I didn’t have one warning to pay attention even though I was paying attention to the other traffic and also enjoying the scenery. Great update!

Do we need ATT for this OTA? I live in a cellular desert--with AT&T being particularly bad.
No. You need ATT to wake up the car remotely.

Man, it's wild that the first 13 or so pages of this thread are people upset Lucid didn't release(?) the update yet. On another note, got my update last night & looking forward to hearing thoughts & opinions on the new release! I need to test out the hood strut change!

Apparently the Millbrae Service Center did the update on my car. That makes me happy because I'm sure they will do a thorough test drive to make sure it is functioning as it should.
They will probably do it on my car. The app shows that it's ready for update, but they won't give me back the car for I don't know how many days. Then I'll have the CCCv2 upgrade and hands free. They really need to improve their scheduling system though. If they can't get to my car for a few days, and will then spend a couple of hours on it, then why not let me take it in a few days later? In the meantime, they left me with a Jeep.

I downloaded last night at 11:30. Not sure if it was 2 hours exactly. I was still up after it finished. Looking at the app "download complete". A few seconds later looking at the app where the bar states "Passive Unlock disabled. Operate locks manually" the bar changed to RED and stated "battery is dangerously low" I restarted the app as I walked to the garage to see what the car had "to say", charge was at 59% and no error or caution message. Went back to the app so I cold do a screenshot, never did it again. Guess just a momentary glitch.

I did take for a 20 mile spin this morning. SWEET!

I'm sorry if this is a dumb question but what is different in the new 'self driving' update from what I already have with the adaptive cruise control and automatic shifting of lanes by a flip of the turn signal stalk? What else can I do with the new update beyond that? If there is someplace that lists all the features, above these, then could someone please provide so I can look?

Thank you so much!!
Brett

adaptive cruise control is exactly that...handles your speed and that's it.

DriveAssist provides lane centering on mapped roads, but you need your hand on the wheel periodically and provides lane change assist (you indicate and it does the lane change when it's deemed safe).

HFDA removes the need to have your hands on the wheel at all as long as you are paying attention to the road (it uses cabin-facing camera to determine where you're looking).

If it were updating, you’d see a progress bar, not “vehicle offline.” My suspicion is your garage has bad AT&T service.
For some reason it’s stayed that way the entire drive home and continues now. The mobile key worked but the app seems bricked. I uninstalled and reinstalled and same thing. “Vehicle offline” at the top in yellow. Weird

Got it! Don't worry if it looks like the update will take way more than two hours. As I have seen in the past... At least when viewing the Lucid app, the last 50% takes a fraction of the time. About ten minutes in my case. Total time a little under two hours.

It's unusual for me to get an OTA update so quickly. I wonder if faster roll-outs are a benefit of recent improvements to the Lucid Cloud infrastructure.

It may be as much as 2 hours and 2 minutes according to @sansonoma , not just two hours. Lucid is definitely hiding something about those extra two minutes, and they aren't saying what. It's very suspicious that these extra two minutes are happening just before the earning call and no one knows why. It makes me so angry that this is happening AGAIN.
Stock split hidden in the update? Hmmm.

It depends. Are they taking an extra two minutes ahead of time before the two hours start, or are the two hours going by without finishing, and the update needing an extra two minutes? If it's the latter, I'd say that Lucid has some explaining to do. If it's the former, I'd say that the software is probably spending a couple of minutes doing diagnostics, standing there with its hands on its hips looking at it before it decides to start.

Here it is a few hours later and they are updating it from 1.1.4 to the 2.8.0.. Presumably it jumped back to 1.1.4 when they replaced the hardware, so it seems like they were wrong yet again on an estimate. They did have all the doors, hood and frunk open for a couple of hours before that so they must have been working on it right away, instead of the week later that they indicated. I want to join in the chorus of people complaining about Lucid doing things well ahead of schedule.

After this update, I couldn’t do the Air logo reset. Tried 3 times.
Anyone having this problem?

I haven't tried the logo reset, but did the equivalent steering wheel reset, which worked fine.
