2.8.0 Software Update

I tried looking in the app and couldn't find it. The only option I saw was on the pilot screen. Hopefully the ability to set it in the phone app comes in the future update.
Thanks, I looked everywhere in the app. Will check the screen when I plug in.

Me, two years ago when everyone was complaining about getting constant "Pay attention" warnings and "solving" it by turning off the warning instead of adjusting their steering wheel position: "You're going to want to make sure the camera can see you, because you'll need it when hands free eventually gets released."

Fast forward to hands free getting released: "Why is it always disengaging? This feature is broken."

I am thinking that you have your steering wheel adjusted right on the edge of blocking your face. As you drive along and adjust your sitting position slightly, you are going in and out of camera view. The common guidance for most users having issues is LOWER STEERING WHEEL. It would help if it gave drivers a “Face not in view” message when it cuts out.
It does say “Unable to determine your face” or something like that. Very briefly.

I have a basic question. Can someone enlighten me as to how custom power limits are useful? I always charge at home with the Lucid charger so I don’t know how this may matter in public chargers.
I have the 80 amp Lucid charger as well. And I also have a large solar array on my house but no batteries yet. Normally my meter runs backward but when I plug my Lucid in at the 80 amp draw I am taking a lot of power off the grid. If I am not in a rush to charge I am way better off to charge at 20 A and draw most of that power from my solar array then from the grid. Will save a lot of money.

That will depend on how your system works, we are on net metering which means it doesn't matter if I pull from the grid or feed it, it just takes the net of those.

I got 2.8.0 update earlier in the evening and I took my car out for a spin on I-635 for about 20 miles, but unfortunately I could not set any cruise control at all let alone hands free. I did Air Logo reset 3 times but did not find any difference. After I came back home, I was looking at my settings and the option for "Distracted Driver" was turned off. Could this be reason for unable to set any cruise or hands free?
Trying to bring this to the top to see if anyone who got 2.8.0 are having such issues. I did not get a chance to drive around after turning the option on today yet.

Unfortunately, in California, when you put power back in the grid you get paid ~20% of the rate that you get charged when you pull from the grid. So it's not a fair trade.

Just a heads up on the install of the 2.8.0 update. I initiated the update with the car plugged in for charging scheduled for after midnight when my rates drop appreciably. The update finished at around 10:00 p.m. and rather than default back to the scheduled charging, it initiated charging immediately. I wound up using over 10K of my peak time which my solar system doesn't generate a whole lot of (4-9pm). So my advice is either update unplugged, or initiate the update when you're close to your off- peak hours charge time. Seems to me that's a bit of a programming mistake albeit a small one

I don't get close to that. I get a paper credit equal to the TOU rate for when I send it back. But that really means that I can get power back later at a cheaper rate, such as by charging at night, and use that balance more slowly than if I charged during the day. But when true up time comes around, a -$500 balance is worth nothing. They will look at the total amount that I used for the year, subtract the total amount I sent to the grid, and if it's negative, I get paid around a penny a kWh from PG&E. They act as if they are giving me the amount based on the rate that they use, but since I can't get actual money, it's merely an accounting figure. The reality is that if I send electricity to the grid during peak generation periods, it lowers the need for them to generate power. And if I get it back in the middle of the night when they have a glut of capacity, the TOU formula gives them an advantage.

I tried yesterday and got

Software Update Failed: We are checking for a solution to the problem. You do not need to take any action. For more information, contact Customer Care.
I got that message yesterday. Then a few hours later, perhaps around 8pm, it showed up as available again. I did the update and about 50 minutes later it was done.

I think that depends on whether your nem1 (+2) or nem 3. It's less of an unfair trade on the pre-existing first nem plans. Those plans were assigned based on the date of the turn on of your solar system. Currently and for the last year it so, it is only Nem3

I would bet some dollars that the steering wheel is blocking the camera from seeing the driver’s face.
I can see the part above the steering wheel that looks at my face. When I get in the car, it shows me the green check mark. I could try lowering the steering wheel even more to see if it makes a difference, but at that point, the steering wheel will be blocking my view of the glass cockpit. I know that the solution is to trade it in for a Gravity, but I'm hoping for an alternative.

It doesn't to my knowledge. Can be useful at home, but you don't want it active at a public charging station. Hence the geofencing.
Hence the geofencing? Could you expand on that ?
