2.8.0 Software Update

Don’t think that is it, but possible. My steering wheel is already pretty low to prevent face recognition problems eons ago. But. I’ll try that. Guess in hands free you don’t really need to see anything on the dashboard. lol
actually you do need to see the left side of the main display for messages regarding the hands-free (such as hands-free zone ending, etc). you probably guessed this but just wanted to point it out.

I was gonna post something but had to slog through the 18 pages of hate mail, then I forgot what I was gonna post. Oh yeah, got the update on Tuesday. Took a while. ONE full business day after 7/31. It's actually the quickest timeframe I've ever received an OTA, compared to past updates. Now for taking it out, testing and then complaining on why I have to keep my eyes on the road. Oh, that's after OTA 3.0.

I found the hands free lacking. It kept going from hands free to not hands free every few miles. So essentially it was not hands free….

Mine was doing that a lot also and also not even activating at all on major Los Angeles Fwy...UNTIL a member here suggest that I lower my steering wheel so that the Distracted Driver Camera can monitor your face constantly. Now it works like a charm.

Man I shoulda just kept my mouth shut . I got a software update failure, and a 0% failure.

Lucid Software Overlords at the Service Center are keeping a watchful eye on me.
I got the same twice

Received two nights ago and just took the ‘22 GT DDPro for a 2h test drive on I-70. Worked perfectly including lane changes. A couple of areas where it wasn’t available but really nice to help reduce driver fatigue.

Two OTAs ago the easy entry function in my 2025 AT got half crippled. The seat will go back when exiting the car, but won't return to driving position when ready to drive (and I would have to use the restore function in the seats menu). The 2.8.0 managed to kill it all. Resetting the car does not help. RIP easy entry. I guess it will be an item to fix during the annual maintenance.

The hands-free driving works pretty well though. And I had only 1 instance of phantom breaking during these 2 days.

Apologies if this is already in this thread somewhere (it's long and I haven't read every post). It seems to me that there's also an update to the Sirius XM in 2.8.0. I installed the update last night and one the drive in to the office today, I was seeing what I swear is a new button in the Sirius XM app.

Sometimes it says PLAY ARTIST STATION, sometimes START OVER, sometimes other things. I'd swear I've never seen that before.
I believe the content of those apps is controlled by the app provider itself, not Lucid. You probably got a simultaneous SiriusXM app update.

I updated to 2.8.0 on Tuesday night and took it for a test drive on a divided highway (not an interstate). Hands free was not available, but the Highway Assist works so much better. Here is a video I posted on my YouTube channel.

I just tried hands free with driver awareness turned off and it still worked.

Just did my first try at hands free, works as advertised after a bit.

I made sure all the options were on under Dreamdrive, got on Hwy 280, and no hands free, just DA (all options still on). Got to my destination, came back to the car, and distracted driver was off. Also, while parked, said something like auto lane change not available. Turned *back* on distracted driver, started pulling out of parking lot and got the message that auto lane change was available. Got on Hwy 92 and hands free was available! Worked fine, though I really don't like my hands off the wheel for any length of time (at least now there won't be any nag message to keep my hands on the wheel).

It did warn me that when heading towards/through the tunnel that leads from Hwy 92 to Hwy 280 south to take control, but when I exited the tunnel and got on 280 it was back on hands free. All in all, with very limited testing, seems like a great improvement.

Also, somewhat unrelated, I tried my Lucid -> Tesla adapter at the Superchargers (V4 cabinets) at Hillsdale blvd/Hwy 92 (to test how/if it works). Plugged in the adapter to the NACS cable, plugged the adapter into the car, and a message appeared telling me there was an additional step. Opened the Lucid app and it prompted me to enter a station ID. Picked 8B in the app and charging commenced immediately. Only charged for a couple of minutes but was sustained at 48 Kw (at about 78% charge). Good to know plan B is available, and Tesla app not needed (I still have the app because we have Powerwalls). Email receipt for the charging from Lucid was in my inbox whan I got home.
