Okay, that’s helpful, but it doesn’t feel like they’ve mastered production and a second shift could just produce more Gravity with issues…Lucid opened a second shift to manufacture

It's the little metal car that they give away. Others have posted their picturesWhat’s speedform?
The market for “mom mobiles” is much deeper and that’s what the R1S has really become and it’s what many folks will use Gravity for - no doubt. A company with limited resources doesn’t need a Gravity variant. They need to ramp Gravity and get to affordable models faster.I think they will build the Gravity X. If you can charge it anywhere and incredibly fast some loss of range will not matter much
THe market like the rigged off road LOOK tho no one really uses these cars that way much
Totally agree. Lucid = luxury, not off-road. Not sure what they're thinking with this X idea. The market for “mom mobiles” is much deeper and that’s what the R1S has really become and it’s what many folks will use Gravity for - no doubt. Especially when there's so few service centers. But for stuff that has to go into the service center to fix, on a brand new 100k plus car is a little ridiculous.
They probably just set the ride height setting higher and put lower offset wheels on it.there were considerable engineering hours applied to widening the car's track, increasing its ride height,
Okay this isn't Delivery Discussion related, but I don't think they put in "considerable" engineering hours here. At the 0:38 mark of this video, Marc mentions Derek Jenkins came to him with the idea for the GX about three months ago. They probably just set the ride height setting higher and put lower offset wheels on it.
I agree with your take on Lucid as a company. It seems like the hardware engineers, Rawlinson included, were focused on the fun innovative stuff at the expense of ignoring the manufacturing side. The marketing team is free to waste money completely detached from the rest of the company. And the software team...
I just noticed this for the first time today too. Our SA suggests ours will go into production in 2 weeks. I know he is an optimistic SA, so we will see!Hard to tell. At one point I got an email from Lucid congratulating me on my Gravity order and telling me to call my Sales Advisor with any questions. However, the name of the SA given in the email was not the same SA I had been assigned the day I ordered the Gravity and who had called me the same day. I thought maybe he had left the company, but when I called him to check he said he was still my SA and that I should continue to deal with him.
No offense but given experiences here, you may be better off asking a Magic 8 Ball about your production timing…I just noticed this for the first time today too. Our SA suggests ours will go into production in 2 weeks. I know he is an optimistic SA, so we will see!

Regardless, as others have said, I think this is a good move on Lucid's part. It's about marketing and it helps raise brand awareness. In parallel to building brand awareness, they need to work on software and manufacturing prowess. Very similar to Tesla circa 2012-13.
Yeah, I totally understand. I went through a lot of growing pains with my first Model S in 2012. Our only hope is Lucid has the talent and leadership to pull it off long term. We've seen it can be done... I know that doesn't make it better today, but hopefully they will make things right for you and us future owners.I have to admit I find the Concept X kind of cool to look at. Reminds me of the Audi All-Road raised estate wagon back in the day which I always liked.
But as a Gravity owner who waited several years for the Gravity to arrive and then finally received a car that has already had two mobile service visits, is now scheduled into a Service Center for an indeterminate length of time, is seeing blind-spot displays malfunction as well as myriad other software hiccoughs, I just wonder about the wisdom of trying to draw more attention to the Gravity with variants when the core model is not ready for volume production and current order holders are experiencing new rounds of delays.
Wow almost 2 months after yot received the VIN! Suspecting it is because of the HUD component shortage & pending existing DE in need of that part too.Haven't seen many new deliveries on here in a while. Things must have slowed down very significantly OR the deliveries that ARE happening are to folks not on this forum or who choose not to post about them?
I thankfully, finally, have a delivery date! Here is my timeline and info.
Previous Air Dream Perf. edition owner (one of the very first). Disappointed that this clearly did not prioritize me, as very evident from several other deliveries of my color combination to non Lucid owners etc. HOWEVER, I am glad that was the case, assuming that my car has fewer issues at start, but who knows, I guess I will find out soon enough....
-Ordered Gravity DE on March 7, 2025. (was not planning to get a Gravity, only did so due to the DE offer that I was emailed)
-May 31, 2025 entered production and got VIN. Was told to go ahead and apply for the lease which I did and got approved thru end of June 2025.
--July 22, 2025 Got Production completed email from SA but dashboard still showed "In production".
-Aug 8th, 2025 Got a call that Gravity is now "Factory gated" and awaiting shipment, also advised that I could expect delivery within 2 weeks.
-Aug 15th, 2025 (Today)- Got a call saying my Gravity is undergoing inspection and has passed the initial "quick check" but will undergo an extensive inspection and first available delivery date is Wed, Aug 20th. Was also advised to pay the amount due for the lease that I have signed, which I did via wire transfer. (a payment of up to $8000 can be made by CC but would incur a 3% charge just fyi in case anyone was wondering).
I was worried that the approval that was good till June 30th would not be valid but apparently it was and so I did not have to reapply.
-Within minutes, I got the lease disclosures etc which I signed. I was told that I would receive the actual lease documents on Monday Aug 18th.
-Now, like many others on this forum have done before, will be counting down till Wednesday and hope that nothing new from Inspection pushes this back!!
My SA has been very good all along. Only initiates contact when there is a solid update. And yet, if I did send him any text/email he is very quick to respond. He was also the same person who delivered the Air DE P to me 3.5 years ago!
Specs: DE, Black, Tahoe, 20/21" Voyager wheels. Location: Central FL.
Yes, I could not believe how long it took but then, being on this forum, I could see I was not alone, so that made it somewhat acceptable...My understanding is that the $8000 CC option is for purchase AND/OR lease but of course I can not state that as a fact since I only went with the leaseWow almost 2 months after yot received the VIN! Is the CC payment of $8,000 applicable to cash purchase or just lease?
I did previously check how much Lucid will accept via CC at time of pick up but results indicated only Wire / ACH / Cashier's check only.Yes, I could not believe how long it took but then, being on this forum, I could see I was not alone, so that made it somewhat acceptable...My understanding is that the $8000 CC option is for purchase AND/OR lease but of course I can not state that as a fact since I only went with the lease![]()
We picked up our Gravity Dream Edition at the Plano TX store. As expected - very nice. We are long time Tesla owners and we were expecting our our two Tesla Level 2 Wall Connectors to work on the Gravity. Neither of them worked - Nothing but red lights. Lucid customer service could not help. Anyone know anything about this incompatibility?
I disagree, it doesnt take much resources to change tires and a new paint scheme....its not like it's a ground up concept. It is 95% based on the Gravity Grand Touring. Not much effort to get some feedback and advertising. The market for “mom mobiles” is much deeper and that’s what the R1S has really become and it’s what many folks will use Gravity for - no doubt. I've only been on this forum for a few months, but so far it looks like the opposite to me... that nearly every Gravity delivery I've seen reported HAS been lately (in the last few weeks).Haven't seen many new deliveries on here in a while. Things must have slowed down very significantly OR the deliveries that ARE happening are to folks not on this forum or who choose not to post about them?
I saw a few more details today and it looks like it's more like 99%. Or maybe I should say it IS just a regular Gravity, with a few different trim and appearance items added. At least it appears that way. Which makes more sense than diverting resources to a significantly different vehicle. Looks like some extra paint here and a sleek roof rack.I disagree, it doesnt take much resources to change tires and a new paint scheme....its not like it's a ground up concept.
