The article form the Society of Automotive Engineers has some technical information on the Gravity that I have not yet seen (unless my eyes glazed over in the long powertrain review Kyle Conner did with Emad Dlala and his team recently). In particular, although I knew the motors for the Gravity had been reworked, I did not realize the extent:

"At the core of the Gravity is the updated motor. Emad Dlala, Lucid's senior vice president of powertrain, told SAE Media that the new motors have received significant improvements in reducing drive unit noise by doubling the isolation and skewing the internal rotor., which has a new rotor architecture than what's found on the Lucid Air. This includes Lucid using what it learned from the high-performance Sapphire trim level to improve thermal performance by adjusting the winding of the stator. The automaker even swapped out the magnets, for again, better thermal performance and higher efficiency."

It seems they really like the vehicle overall.

Is the new motor techs apply to both GT and DE?

The more I read about Gravity, the more a refresh of Air sooner rather than later makes sense to me. it would have to be cheaper to move both platforms to this new motor design.

I believe the 2025 Air has the improve motor that like Gravity but still with different mounts so the sound isolation does not match Gravity.

A Gravity video by the German magazine "Auto Bild" mentioned that the Gravity has a 600hp rear motor and a 228hp front motor (7:50). I assume someone at Lucid must have given him these figures? But that spread sounds a little extreme to me.

Now that we know the Gravity Dream will use the rear motor of the GT as the front motor of the Dream, that means the Dream motors total 1200 horsepower. Perhaps the rated 1,070 hp of the Dream results from battery current limits, something that the 828hp GT doesn't encounter?

Any help from some of the forum engineers here?

Reminder that Lucid has a habit of under promising HP and overdelivering.
