Gravity Delivery Discussion

I got one of those, but I *did* make a change to my order. Does it have an Order Agreement Configuration Summary attached? Can you compare it to your original one?

The "proof of insurance" upload was there when I placed my order; I don't think it's new (or particularly actionable right now).

BTW, is there a magic decoder ring for order numbers?

Someone will discover the code i'm sure.

Borski should be going first and then giving us the break down of what works, what doesn’t, and how fast. Or he can just send the DE my way and I will take the time to test and report back, no sweat.

While I do hope to get mine sooner rather than later, it will make for an awkward call if my sales advisor calls me asking me to confirm when I still haven't been able to drive (or even sit inside) a Gravity at this point. That's asking for a lot of faith for something that will cost over $150k with tax.

The irony is that I may be the only Gravity order holder who was hoping ours wouldn’t be among the first off the line. Oh, well . . . .
Definitely not the only one.

When did you order your Gravity?
Ordered the original GT on the day orders opened and switched to a Dream the day those orders opened. But the second Dream was ordered a couple of weeks later, and the sales rep asked for confirmation of both orders today. Don’t know if that means they’ll be built together, though.

Did they give you any timeline for delivery? Curious how long from confirming order to hands on squircle.

can you ask for some residual data on 36 and 48 month lease deals at 10k? even if you plan to pay cash, can't hurt to gather some data for the rest of us ;-)

My sales advisor contacted me by text message this afternoon (Easter Sunday, surprisingly), so we didn't actually talk. I was on the way to dinner with friends so only texted him back to confirm the order configurations were my final intent. He said he'd be in the studio tomorrow at 11:00 a.m.

I'll see what information he has about things and will post it. I have some questions of my own, too:

Will the cars come with charging cables?
Will the charger certificates for EA and Superchargers already be created and linked to my Lucid wallet?
Will the two cars be delivered separately or together?
What are delivery options, since Lucid studios are on the other side of the state?
How will trade-in(s) be handled? (I was going to trade our Odyssey and Tesla, but one of my partner's tennis partners may want to buy the Tesla.)

I get that. I did get to sit in an early Air prototype but did not get to drive one before we took delivery of our Air Dream in 2021. But that car turned out to be everything it was promised to be in terms of power and driving dynamics (although no so much in early software iterations), so I'm a lot more comfortable with taking a leap of faith this time.

I also have the advantage this time around of @borski's extended time with a Gravity. I have found us to be so in sync with impressions of our Air Dreams that his input on the Gravity goes a very long way to make this decision easy.

Just heard from my sales advisor. Said if I could confirm our orders they would start the build out.
Did they mention 1) how long between confirmation of order and when you would take delivery?, and 2) did they mention at what point you do the paperwork/make payment? I'm sure many of us are hoping you will get yours in short order and can give us the full scoop.

I'd planned to pay cash but when the market took its tariff-fueled dive, I thought maybe it would be wiser to lease. After seeing the lease deals, that also seems unwise so it's either sell during the bad market (would at least make our tax bill go down lol) or do a short-term lease on something else (maybe a Pure although I've only driven and considered the AGT) until the market either recovers or the lease deals get better. First world problems. I'm further down the DE delivery lease (not a current owner and took a few days to put in my DE order), so I likely have more time to waffle on this given that only a couple people appear to have gotten the call thus far.

I'll post whatever I'm free to say publicly as I find things out.

I had a talk with our sales advisor today, and he really didn't have a lot of information yet. He said Lucid had contacted him to ask me to confirm the configuration on both cars so that they could be put into production. He took that to mean they are entering the production queue but had no idea when they might be delivered. He wasn't sure whether the two would be built together. We're not yet even at the point where paperwork is being prepared for the sale. He didn't have VINs on either car yet.

I asked some other questions that he either could not yet answer or could just guess:

- didn't think charging cables would be included, but is going to check
- thought the charger certificates for EA and Superchargers would be set up and linked to my Lucid account, but was going to have to confirm
- no plans at this point to offer extended warranties
- at first said the cars were going to be 2025 models, but became unsure when I said the Lucid website now only shows 2026

I didn't press ahead with any other questions at this point, as the sales people apparently aren't really being told that much yet.

You've changed your tune. For someone who had concerns on panel gaps, noisy seats, fob not working to experiencing early issues with the Air and wanting the Dream Edition to not be the first off the line. Seems you threw all that out the window and jumped on order confirmations for not just one but two Gravity's 😂

Nothing has changed about my tune. After I reported that I got the call yesterday I posted that I had still hoped that the Dream Editions would not be first off the line. And it is for the very reason that I still am worried that the cars given to the press had the problems they did.

However, Lucid has decided to build the Dream Editions first. There is nothing I can do about that. The only way I can get a later production car is to forgo the Dream Edition and give up the additional power that I want. Taking early production units is thus a trade-off I will make without being excited about it, mainly because Lucid was so diligent in working through the early-production problems I had with our original Air Dream Edition.

I did not "jump" on the order confirmations. I got a call to do so, and I complied. If I had refused to confirm the order when requested, Lucid would be free to assign my allocation to someone else and, not knowing where orders stand against the 450-car limit, I was not going to risk that.

As I've posted several times, early production problems do not leave me worried about ultimately ending up with a bad car. Dealing with rectifying them is just an inconvenience that I would prefer to avoid the second time around.

I'm sorry you're going to have to wait longer for your Gravity. But them's the breaks I guess.

No apologies needed. I have a Dream on order as well. Whether I take it or not is another story
