Upcoming Rivian compact SUV

Yeah they revealed 3 models.
R2 - First half of 2026. Reservations start today. Stating price is $47k and gets over 330 miles.
R3 - no details but looks like Ioniq 5
R3X - no details.
Wait, what?? How could I miss that? That R3 is beautiful... and I think Lucid MIGHT be worried after Rivian unveiled 3 models. Its also tri motor... wtf. I am incredibly proud of Rivian right now. I absolutely LOVE how they are all easily identifiable as a Rivian!

Forget the R2, that R3X looks like exactly what I want. On the outside. Now, Lucid, do that but better and call it a midsize okay?

We need Lucid $55k model

And the stock just exploded... ouch. This puts a lot of pressure on Lucid.

Now Rivian needs to fix their Service Center mess. Many people (me included) are waiting 3+ months for an appointment (some are waiting 6 months). Once the R2 is released, the current infrastructure will be completely overwhelmed. Same thing happened to Tesla when they launched Model S. Service Centers were a complete cluster f*ck.

First time I’m a First Day reservationist.

Congrats, I do like the R2 and the R3x. Now for my situation, I still need something better than the R1S (7 seater). In my opinion for the price is very bare bones. Maybe Gravity will steer me away...

Maybe 2026/2027, we can trade in Polestar2 for R3.

If Lucid doesn't come out with something better, the R3 is probably my first car! Also love the focus on rear seat comfort(marques has insane legroom in the rear), that amazingly well thought steering wheel (marques' review shows it has PS5 controller like dials, which is nice) and the insane packaging with the glovebox...

LOL, I tried the POLESTAR. I for one was not keen for it... I almost bought the R2 for my wife / kids but my wife didn't like the non lux for 100K+

Am I the only one who sees an awful lot of

in that R3 design?
And yet I still like it! Maybe because underneath the R3 exterior there will probably be an actual car.
I was seeing a Golf MK1 sprinkled with some MK2 in the roofline and window treatment, and I REALLY like it! The ioniq 5 also took a very similar design approach, although that Rivian is gorgeous from all angles and beats it handily (especially the rear). I always admired the MK1 Golf because of how simplistic (and as a byproduct, modern-ish) it is, which appeals to me (if you showed me only that grille and made the lights led, I would guess the car was designed in 2021!).

Well, really two models with a sport variant of the second one

R2 looks nice. Lucid needs to hurry up and get back into the party.
We know that the midsize's design is finished or close to finished, and I would expect an unveil (a detailed one like rivian, not like the November 22 gravity one with that stupid perfume lady). If not, Lucid may lose ground on early reservations to Rivian and the FUD about Lucid dying due to this would increase. (not trying to be an armchair ceo, for the record)

I'm not too worried tbh. R2 isn't slated until first half of 2026, and with news that Rivian is halting factory build out, they won't be able to produce R2 in volume. Lucid has the factory built out already and an intro in 2025 with deliveries starting in 2026 will generate the same amount of hype without the 2 year delay.
