There's a post I saw not too long ago that I can't find. I've tried searching and browsing both. The post was about the wedge type thing in front of the front wheels. I recently noticed that one of mine is missing two fasteners (probably due to a scrape on a curb). I'd like to replace them before it falls off and I think the post had info on this. Any help finding it would be appreciated!

Thx

“Air foil” and “air dam” are your magic search terms :)

I replaced one of mine and it’s very easy to do. FWIW though, the consensus here is that their impact on efficiency is extremely minimal and probably very hard to even measure. So if they‘re knocked off, I wouldn’t obsess over it.

Have you been observing ANYTHING on these forums the past 2 years? LOL asking this group of owners not to obsess over a missing part of their car.... 🤣

I've already had mine replaced twice. They get loose very easily.

Yeah, my bad! 😜

And hey, I'm here 3 years. Let's get these critically important facts straight! ;)

Just having both of mine replaced. In my opinion (and the technician agrees) it is a design flaw that will continue to come back if your front end gets near the surface of the road ie a bump, dip, curb, snow, etc. I’m paying $82.72 for them to both be replaced with the cost not being the issue. The issue is it is a design flaw and should be addressed as such. I’ve let Lucid know and when I hear back I’ll post.

I keep an extra pair (they're asymmetrical so have a left and a right) on hand, as I've had to replace a couple. The $82.72 must have included labor. I don't remember what I paid for the second pair, but Lucid only charged me a little over $11.00 for the first pair. Customer Service will mail you a pair upon request.

They're very easy to replace yourself. There are two tabs on the front that pop into slots and a single plastic screw that anchors them in the back. It's a 2-minute job, although working that close to the floor is a bit tricky.

I don't think they're a design flaw but rather are meant to be break-away, easily-replaceable components should the underside of the bumper get too near a parking chock or something similar. Much better than having a rigid air foil in place that can damage other components if pulled off.

Somehow I still have mine after 19000 miles of driving including potholes, rocks, washed out dirt roads, speed bumps, snow… 🤷‍♂️
Of all the wishes we have, a slightly undesirable piece that practically doesn’t matter and isn’t even easily seen does not top my list.

Yes that includes labor. Good to know about customer service sending replacements out.

The only times I've lost them was by pulling too far forward in parking spaces with front curbs or parking chocks. Once I learned how to judge things in that frontal gray zone on the birds-eye-view display I quit hitting the airfoils. That extra pair has been in my garage for almost two years now.

I think they are secured with clips. If you scrape the bottom, they will fall off. Mine did. Yes, $83!

Correction. I forgot there are two plastic screws that secure the back of each airfoil. Still only about a 2-minute job, though.
