Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

The floor mats in black look good, but if you want to match the Tahoe interior, the Motor Trend mats in beige are almost an exact match to the carpet and interior leather.
I must have gotten the Bangladeshi models...I hope the workers survived the foul smell. The factory definitely forgot the "new car smell" potion. I kept the box they came in. It now is sticking up the entire condo garage. Sorry neighbors.

Picked up my car today in Boston. I could not drive it home so they drove it to my house. Beautiful car and drive home.
Have to wait for registration and plates as Lucid registers car.
May take 1-2 weeks to receive my plates via mail.
patience is a virtue 😊

Congratulations and enjoy it in the best of health once the good for nothing DMV does some work
A few pics taken in Manchester by the Sea would be great

Mine has no smell either when I received them.
Mine didn't smell either but I got the Burgundy and I really think they go well with the car color and interior. As a matter of fact, I'm not going to order the Weathertech when they become available even though I've had Weathertech mats in my last 4 cars.

Thanks! I’m trying to be as objective as possible and I know I’m sampling from a very biased and flawed dataset. Only Lucid would know the true state of things.
I guess that’s one downside of me being excited enough to be watching this forum for months :)

I’m definitely not letting the loudest voices dictate how I perceive things(it goes both ways actually).
I think it’s just those few critical functions that I expect to be flawless. Hearing that it’s nearly 100% reliable with the fob is definitely reassuring. The silence on some issues is just not reassuring though. I wonder if owners are hearing back from Lucid but are not at liberty to share.

The plan right now is to make a decision after my second test drive tomorrow. I’ll report back after we do it.
Current plan is to form a new opinion on(Importance in braces):
1. New Nav (Low)
2. General state of software (High)
3. AC function/heat from the windshield (Low - to decide if we need to setup a tint appt)
4. Sound system (High)
5. Luggage capacity (Low - We’re gonna carry some luggage and see what it can fit)
6. Profile switching (Med)
7. Random fit and finish things from the forum delivery checklist (Med)

It’s really just going to come down to the car not having a hiccup during a 1.5 hour test drive.
I’m super excited and generally very lenient towards new tech. Thanks to all the owners to try and keep the story straight.
Following up on this. (I'm going to stop talking about this on the tracker thread after this, it's off topic)

Car was a Red/Tahoe GT Production model.
The car drives really well. This produciton model was more polished in EVERY single way than the pre-prod we tried back in March.

1. New Nav: Much improved, super fast to navigate within the city. Very laggy touch response, especially in Satellite view.

2. General state of software: Much improved. Responsive albeit slow to switch between major apps (Music, Nav) but totally acceptable.

3. AC function: The AC is definitely a little bit weak but I think as long as you ignore the set temperature and just lower it till you're comfortable it gets the job done. Surprisingly loud for not moving a lot of air at the higher settings. I think there's a lot of loss of pressure from the sheer number of vents everywhere in the car.

4. Sound system: When I first saw the car, this blew me away. Today however it seemed like all the sound was "ahead" of me. There was very little happening near the back of the car. Could be that the bass was cut, didn't try rebooting. Balance slider was centered and moving it back made no difference other than just kill the volume in front.

5. Luggage Capacity: We forgot to carry luggage :)

6. Profile switching: All the studio cars are in guest mode and didn't have more than 1 profile. Weren't able to test this out.

7. Fit and Finish: Broadly speaking, absolutely top notch. Exterior and Interior were excellent. Only problem was the steering wheel buttons for cruse/next/prev/alexa etc were making a very loud creaking and clicking sound when pressed. They felt broken. Studio car didn't have that issue. The climate control and volume buttons in the center feel much better than before. The steering wheel roller buttons also felt much better than before.

8. Adaptive Cruise: Tried out adaptive cruise. Works really well. Worked well last time too.

9. Lane keep: Generally worked well but tended to keep moving me away from the median divider if there was one. I would turn this off.

10. Distracted driving: I have polarized glasses, never triggered the system.

11. Heat from windshield: I'm 6'4", I could feel the windshield get warm but it was not bad at all. Non issue for me. If it does bother me I'll tint it. Car clearly has UV treatment on all glass.

12. Self park: Car is a lot more confident than before. Tried it twice, both times there was a car on 1 side and a pillar on the other (with another car beyond the pillar). 50% success rate :). The first time we nearly made it into the spot and the car did a fantastic job, but then just stopped and starting moving the wheel around for no reason.

Overall the car we drove was far more polished than the one we tried out back in March. It looks, feels, and drives like a premium luxury car (than can transport you and 4 others to stupid speeds in crazy short times). I loved it. It's put my mind at ease and I will likely take delivery.

PS - It bugs me that in every review I watch, people try to "slide" the pilot panel up. That's not how that thing works at all. It's just a "button", just press and hold until the animation finishes and then release to make the panel retract. (gif demonstration)

Updated my GT from 20” to 21”. Hopefully will get it soon!
My DA just gave me an update on 20" wheels - if I changed my order to 20", the car wouldn't be likely to be delivered this year, as it would ship after a number of earlier 20" orders.

That’s why I changed to 21”. There’s no solid answer as to when the 20” wheels will be available hence the switch.

Any issues in this car that are bothering you as a first-time user? I'm getting mine next week.
Congrats. I received mine on Monday (came from Miami), but had a few issues .. they took it back (to VA) and I should have it back early next week 🤞
I suggest you look at the Delivery Checklist Post .. it gives a comprehensive list of what to look at/expect.
Also, not sure where in NC you are, but CLT traffic did delay the delivery (and pick up) by a few hours.

I am just sharing trivia.
Were there any auto workers near the Lucid plant to hire?
I would say Abbott has real training programs for staff and would likely have good quality workers.
If you look at some of the issues with the cars, no surprise as they didn't have Lexus Takumi working in the plant.
Basically Lucid engineers had to/have to design parts and processes that less than Takumi can deal with.

Here is the order info for the MotorTrend ones
Mine showed up today
No smell from the package
Thanks for the info. Let us know how they look after doing the trim.

For what it’s worth, mine had no smell at all. Must be a “batch” thing.

Take lots of pictures today to post for us!
I absolutely will....IF I get it today. I have some time constraints today (it's my son's 13th birthday) that might not match up with the delivery team. I am awaiting a call to see if we can squeeze it in this afternoon.

I have my son's football game tomorrow AM, then my niece's wedding in the afternoon.

Sunday, I have to coach my daughter's basketball game. So.....

Worst case scenario, I have to wait until Monday.
