Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

"Things are moving fast! Maybe two weeks!"

Phone has been silenced since Sunday morning ....I attend silent meeting on First Day. No electronics. Sunday morning I turned my phone off and it's been on "silent" ever since. I forget to turn it back on. If my DA has been trying to reach me on cell I didn't hear it, and I usually don't have my phone with me at all, because what are all you people doing looking at your phones all day long?

Then checking email last night: It's been so long that I did not recognize the name in email (not my assigned DA),
and it said: "now that you have your VIN..."
which was news to me.

Because the email was asking for personal identity theft and banking hack info, and provided no VIN, and since I had no contact from my DA, I defaulted to : THIS HAS TO BE A PHISHING EMAIL.
It was a very good fake email, exactly matching something Lucid might send, but I did not have a VIN, and my DA had not called or texted, and I did not recognize the name. I've seen excellent fake emails before, from PayPal and the like, so I was not having it. I figured since my DA hadn't texted you people would get to the bottom of this. My DA called within minutes of my post appearing. Thanks guys.

It was not fake. It was real.

Today my DA sent me my VIN. I'm over the moon. Have electrician coming next week. Doing my research on ceramic coatings.
Already have my leaf-peeping trip to NH planned.


I'm sorry people.

ps: don't hold your breath waiting for the Lucid charger.

Looks like they found 2 cans of paint.
 
Got a call from my DA that the car had "finished production" and that the next stop was Chicagoland for final prep and delivery to Ohio!

6+ months from confirmation and not a peep, then a flurry of activity - I'll take it.

Will be a nice wrap up to September and good excuse to drive around and take in the autumn color through that ginormous roof....

Another step of progress today.
Even though my DA didn't reply to acknowledge receipt of the bank info, he must have as I received the purchase agreement to sign via Docusign.
It was signed on Lucid's end by Zack Edson. There was a funny IL specific point about use of chains.

Delivery: Ready on 8/31/22, but picked up 9/1/22 in Millbrae

I was out of the country when my car was ready, so I picked it up the moment I flew in. Had a speedy 60 mile drive, which ended along the Asilomar Coast. Loved every moment! Now, it’s parked until I get it in for all the protective installs. Also, this is my first EV and I was so confused when it came time to turn off the car and there was no “On/Off” button!

I took delivery today of my Red/Tahoe Air GT. While my DA was not responsive in the last couple of weeks, the people at the Boston studio were very helpful and made sure I was able to get the car in time for our car show this weekend.

Not sure if we are still tracking deliveries, but here is the timeline for reference:

Air GT, Grey / Santa Cruz, 21" wheels
Ordered: 10/03/21
Confirmed: 12/14/21
"VIN assigned" note: 6/13/22
"Completed production" note: 8/15/22
"Arrived at Costa Mesa, CA" note: 8/26/22
"Finished inspection" note: 8/29/22
Applied for a loan on 8/31/22 via Lucid, took 9 days to fund:
- 3 days to process
- they asked for a document copy in E-mail, we sent in 15 minutes. It took them 4 days to actually link it to the application, that is after I called.
- 3 more days to fund the loan
Pick-up: 9/14/22
 
For list updating purposes: Reserved silver Pure 12/9/21, confirmed silver AGT 3/9/22, was offered white AGT w Mojave & 19” wheels mid-August, picked up at Short Hills, NJ studio 9/10/22. Definitely a learning curve since I’m a first time EV owner, but so far…sweet!!

FYI…financed 100% through Carolina Cooperative at 2.99%. Still pretty cheap money.

Are you wrapping, tinting or putting ceramic coating on. If so who are you using in the NJ area

I’m considering a tint once I drive a bit more and see if all that glass causes too much glare. Thought about wrap and ceramic, but I think I’m gonna pass. I did talk to ACAP in Malvern PA and was impressed by them.

Did your application with Lucid trigger a hard credit pull? I want them to do theirs first before I confirm my pre-approval with my credit union.
