Just got my VIN! After office hours too. My notice came via email from my DA Joey Petersen. So VIN assigned 12th September 2022.

Chicago updates
Saw my first Lucid driving on the streets this evening, a bit after 5 PM heading North a few streets West of N Halsted crossing W North Ave
After dinner did a drive bye of Goose Island. Eleven cars parked out front, may reds and a few whites. There was also an Intercity lines 18 wheeler with enclosed trailer parked out front. I expect some more cars will be offloaded tomorrow morning.

One of those reds could be mine, did the ACH this morning; any thoughts on when I should get the car?

it's time to get started" So before I get anything that resembles exited where am I in the grand loop? I do not plan on leasing or financing

I received my "apply for loan" email on Sept 6th, and got my VIN on Sept 12th (just six days later). Delivery of the car itself is 2-4 weeks out from now.

If you're not planning on doing any kind of financing, whether through Lucid or your own bank, you don't need to do anything.

But you are at the home stretch! Almost there

Called Lucid yesterday. 9/12/22. Delivery department was very helpful as my DA is MIA.
Was told my GT would be arriving in Chicago that same day for QC which could take 4-10 days to complete.
Then transported by enclosed carrier to Boston (Seaport studio) next day.
Completed all financials today. 9/13/22.
Hopefully will have my car in 2 weeks.

Congratulations. I took a Zenith Red/Tahoe cancellation in April, because I could not wait any longer for the silver I ordered.

I love my Zenith Red, but I am most anxious to see the Silver. I give you 3 gold stars for your patience.

GREAT NEWS! Just got a call (at 9 PM no less) from my DA Jacque who informed me my VIN is established and he'll be emailing it over soon. He told me to get financing started ASAP and I could have the car as soon as 2 weeks! BOO YAH!!!

Time for another Goose Island update.
Lovely evening in Chicago so time of a ride in the convertible.
There were 14 new ones lined up in the parking area across the street from the Goose Island facility.
I had never seen a single one in this area.
There were also 13 news ones directly in front of the facility, plus a Gold DE with a license plate.
The garage door was open and the space was also full of cars.
Other stuff, My DA reached out this morning to request details regarding my bank to use on the bill of sale. I provided my banker's contact info to him. Then remembering the guy is a spud and pretty much worthless in the process (i.e. wouldn't reach out to my banker in the amount of time I would like him to) I contacted my banker (who confirmed she hadn't heard from him) and sent him the info myself. As usual no reply like thanks or acknowledging receipt.
The other day the banker did say that Abbott lost a bunch of factory workers in AZ who went to work for Lucid (better pay).

It's called toasted caramel, multiple shades of tan.
I believe they are a reqional service center.
You make an interesting point on the home delivery. I would have thought Goose Island bulk ships to stores like Boston and those folks arrange local deliveries.

I am just sharing trivia.
Were there any auto workers near the Lucid plant to hire?
I would say Abbott has real training programs for staff and would likely have good quality workers.
If you look at some of the issues with the cars, no surprise as they didn't have Lexus Takumi working in the plant.
Basically Lucid engineers had to/have to design parts and processes that less than Takumi can deal with.

MA does not allow temporary tags. **sigh**

Well, finally received plates today, 18 days after taking delivery. That is longer than the 16 days it took from VIN assignment to home delivery.
Seems like Lucid uses a third party service in MA to go to the registry in person and get the plates, then (in my case) FedEx‘es them to you.

Most frustrating part is I could log onto the RMV website and see my car was registered last Thursday, The FedEx “overnight“ label was generated Friday, no idea why it took until Tuesday. For this money, the courier should stop by my house on the way back from the registry.

Again, my advice to Massachusetts customers is ask for the title upfront, and go to the registry and pay the sales tax yourself. You’ll get your car (and be able to drive it) much faster.

Congratulations, I have 2 emails to him that he hasn't responded to, maybe he will call me with good news instead. Up until now he has been very responsive.
