Ordering and Delivery: Lucid Air Grand Touring

Oh man. I had such a mess of time with them as well. Got my loan, signed and the following day they created a new random loan for a smaller amount and the. Contacted me telling me my loan is ready. Then I explained how I already signed my contract with them and they were so confused so they had to send it up the chain. Eventually they canceled the new loan that was made out of no where but then my original loan didn’t go through so I had to keep bothering about that since my delivery was coming up. Finally they got it all sorted after I sent them the signed loan document I had but it’s crazy they just made up a loan I didn’t ask for. It’s really Bank of America, not Lucid that’s screwing this all up tbh.
Update for me. Loan finally went through. Car paid. Coming tomorrow!

That's sad because I'm sure I was one of the first people to use BofA for my loan and it was super easy and no hassle at all.
Yeah I used BofA to finance part of it and it was super easy. There was one adjustment to the purchase agreement (also for state sales tax) but they fixed it in one day and BofA had no issues with it. One thing is I did not secure financing until my SA told me to, as he said if you apply too soon in the production process it can mess things up, like don’t apply when VIN is assigned, wait until he told me to apply. I did that and within 48hr everything was finished financing wise with no further issues.

I was surprised early in my process I was asked how I would pay cash, finance or lease. In any of your experiences do you think that the way you answer that question has any effect on where you are placed in the production queue?

I doubt there is a difference in timing, but I do think it is useful information for the DA so that he knows what boxes need to be checked and when in relation to delivery.

Leasing wasn’t even an option until lately. I paid cash, but I queried loan process and BOA tried to get me financing strongly, saying it’s safer to let bank holds lien for an unknown company. I personally think they just want origination fee or some sort.

Lucid just want to know what is your plan in advance so they can schedule your paperwork accordingly. It also means they are more organized now then in the past. When I my GT in Service Center in April all the sudden without advanced heads up, the sudden email instruction was just go to bank or use this web link to process. It interrupted my schedule on April 15th with accountant. Anyway, I forgave them for their teeth process since it is such beautiful and comfortable than every car I owned in the past.

Interesting .. this is the 2nd time I have heard of this.

I was planning on cash, but switched to loan, since someone else suggested the same ... let the bank hold the lien. I Q'ed them, since it is *my* loan and if I don't fulfill it as per terms, my credit would be impacted. Their response was vague, citing company closure, "a way out", etc ... I did not understand the entirety of it & decided to roll the $ into a CD. At least get something back for the money.

Maybe bank also need to put their deposits into action. 1b BOA initial credit to Lucid Air financing, that is 6700 AGT they have to fulfill. I personally don’t think you can go wrong either way. BOA is not blind to take risk on Lucid and its purchasers despite haters saying the company won’t be around in a few years.

On the one yard line but running out of downs. Update regarding my struggles with Lucid Financial. my car finished PDI and was ready to be loaded on the carrier. I was told I needed to have financing in place in order to get a purchase agreement. I applied through Lucid Financial, was approved but they used an incorrect amount (they didn't take into account sales tax.). I signed the sales agreement showing the total payment including fees and taxes asked Lucid Financial to approve the loan at a flat amount and I ACH'd the difference. Financial now has loan paperwork (which i have not yet seen) for a loan amount that has them funding $4000 over the balance due on the car. At this point I am willing to overpay by $4k and wait for a refund but I still cannot seem to get anyone to send me the paperwork so Lucid can be funded and my car shipped. Now they want to send me a new purchase agreement, reflecting an overpayment, but no promise as to when the loan agreement will appear. So, if anyone is offered an Infinite Black, Santa Cruz with 19s it may be my cancellation. I am very close to giving up.
Your to close to give up. The car is worth the frustration it takes to get. Most fun I've had driving ever!!

Fingers crossed. I think I finally squared everything up. It was a challenge. I also used their provider (plaid) to ACH funds that never got there. I was trying to pay from a savings type account and I guess it has to come from checking. No one told me of that requirement or bothered to tell me why the funds did not go through. I finally tracked it through customer service at my bank who said Plaid coded the transaction wrong. I resent the ACH from a checking account and hopefully that worked. hopefully they will take the dust off the car before they ship.

First 10 days of August had so many VIN assignment and delivery. This look very promising for Lucid to achieve or beat the new Q3 and Q4 production guidance number at current rate.

I only see 3 VIN assignments for August so far in total for all colors In the chart here on the site.

I believe the chart needs updating from the various posts posted over the last week or so. A thankless job. Therefore, THANK YOU to the folks doing this!
Should be up to date now!
