Software wish list

Yes, I do a light acceleration too, not not everyone is capable of that. Most people I know, especially ones coming from gas cars, tend to just go press hard on that pedal. Also sloth mode likely helps efficiency minded folks as well.
Yes, I play the accelerator like a violin, but I guess that’s just me.

Sometimes I will open the app just to check if the vehicle is locked or on the charger (sometimes I forget to put it on the charger as soon as I get home, but may check before bed time).

So I like the option to not wake up the vehicle from sleep unless a command is sent.
Except that app doesn't necessarily know the CURRENT state of the lock until it wakes up the car and verifies. Until then, you just have a cached state of whatever the lock status was the last time the car communicated with the cloud , which may or may not still be accurate.

I am coming from a Tesla experience. If I recall correctly, the Tesla app was always very accurate in its identification of the current state of the vehicle. I guess since they are cloud connected, the status on cloud should be updated as soon as it state changes and it should be the version on the app. In areas where cloud connection is not available, the phone as a key comes in to play. The vehicle should give communicate status to app when locked.

From my two week's experience with Lucid, I see that Tesla has a better phone as a key experience. I am hoping Lucid will match them.

I use my charge cable all the time while traveling, visiting friends, renting out VRBOs, etc. Even with a dedicated wall charger at home and DC Fast chargers all around, I’d still never want to be without a charge cable for emergencies. You never know when you’ll need a quick charge somewhere.
I keep my cable in the car as well. On that front, I'd like Lucid to develop a slightly smaller case for it so that it fits perfectly into either of the side cubbys in the trunk area (not the covered part, but above the cover). It sort of almost fits there now, but you have to squish it a bit so it looks all crinkled and ghetto. There is more than enough room in the case for the parts they supply and even if you order an extra adapter they should still be able to design it to fit exactly into that space and be out of the way for larger packages and stowing the 3rd row.

The bag fits in the left Air cubby perfectly, as you describe. I was a bit disappointed they didn’t redesign it to fit in the equivalent space in Gravity as well.

Adding a few more to the SW wish list:

1. In the map view listing all chargers, when viewing the details of a charger station, the info should also list the prices at that charger and the specifically the TOU rates by time of day.
2. The estimated range on the screen to the left of the driver should be customizable. Currently it shows a value thats weighted heavily by the usage in last 10 miles. That 10 mile number should be customizable with values like higher values like 100 or miles traveled since last charge etc. It will be great if that average efficiency & range projections can be shown for Trip A & Trip B. Note that average efficiency is available in the vehicle trips info, but having it on the left screen gives an accurate range estimate based on current trip. This is useful on long road trips.

Reducing the size of the unit will mean they have reduce the power of the unit. I have read on Tesla forums that their mobile charger unit is capped at 32A, due to heating issues. Original units had a 40A spec, but reduced to 32 in subsequent versions due to overheating on the original version. The Tesla units ar much smaller than the ones Lucid is giving with the vehicle. If Lucide makes the charger smaller, it may end up becoming a lower power unit.

As I said in my original post, the case is oversized for the existing unit. Reducing the size of the case will have no impact on the charger itself, it will just reduce the "crumply" look when someone inevitably tries (and succeeds) in stuffing it into the trunk cubby holes.

Arguably there is also plenty of room in the space under the cover at the bottom of that same cubby hole to put any extra cables or even the cables that ship with it making it possible to make the case even smaller still, but I really think the case is just bigger than it needs to be and sizing it to be the right size will allow it to fit into the cubby hole with no compromises.

I’m going to add one more thing for the wishlist. I think that the directional signal should be a little bit louder when you’re in the radio is playing you’re playing some music even at a low volume you basically can’t hear it so I think it should be a little bit louder. That’s an easy fix.

Adding one more here. But not a SW wish list.

I wish the Gravity had motorized charge port door like the Lucid Air. I got a loaner last week and I was impressed by how cleanly it opened and closed. But the Gravity has manual door. Very surprised by the downgrade on the Gravity.

I, for one, prefers the simplicity of the manual charge port door.
Doesn't take much effort to push it open, and one less thing to break down.
Imagine being on the road and the charge port refuses to open..
This has been reported on the forum before on the Air.

I kinda liked the power door, from an elegance perspective. But it was too slow. Gravity’s opens fast, which is good. I just worry I’ll pop it open accidentally one of these days with the app and not be able to close it.

Another item I’d like to add to my wishlist: more preferences set by profile.

Many of the driver preferences are saved into your individual profile. Which is great.

But two that aren’t really bug me.

1. Unlock driver door only
2. Unlock on park.

My wife wants the opposite of what I want for both of these. It would be great if we could have the car do whatever the current driver wanted.

Wait, you can open it with the app? Am I reading this correctly?

Oh, you’re right. You can’t with the Gravity. But you could with the Air. So I guess I don’t have to worry about that after all.

For a moment, I thought I was missing out.
Has happened to me before.
It was months into ownership before I learned from @DeaneG that there was a button to stop the charging.

A very simple upgrade will be to let users rate the charging station on the app for speed, reliability and nuber of chargers. Than use those scrores in navigating to the preferred chargers. This will save a lot of time in long trips and improve user experience.

Given the limited development resources this would be a poor investment. And the features that you’re asking for are available in third party apps. The data aggregation in those apps is far more useful given the total number of EV drivers vs. Lucid owners. There are chargers that may not see a Lucid in days and drivers would have to be diligent in providing feedback. And circumstances at any given charger could change by the time the next Lucid driver chooses that station. I could see more issues and frustration with drivers relying on inaccurate information culled from a very limited data set.
