2.8.17 update

Alas. Left and Center cockpit screens are still rebooting randomly with 2.8.17. I was parked though.

Keep checking... https://lucidowners.com/threads/and...etting-unrestricted-background-battery.12132/

This is crazy though, I haven't even finished assessing whether .16 was "safe" to install (was leaning no) and the clock was reset again! I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell everyone that the regen changes are all in their head though
I do check it fairly frequently. This later version (s) of the app had stayed we unrestricted for at least a few weeks, and it was unrestricted when I last checked it a few days ago.

Gotta love the consistency!
I just checked, and with the new (12/5/2) Android revision to the Lucid app, my Pixel 9 phone will still not stay on 'unrestricted' for more than a few hours before reverting to 'optimized'. I don't know the ramifications of that behavior, but that is what's happening. (BTW, I am not yet on this latest OTA update.)

Just checked again and it had reverted again since yesterday. So annoying.

Do you (or anyone) know the ramifications of the app being on 'optimized' vs. 'unrestricted'? For all I know, it might not make a rat's ass bit of difference! :-)

I don't know honestly. I will let it sit as optimized for awhile and see if it makes any difference in the reliability of using my phone as a key and the doors opening when I approach.

Did anyone here not update to .16 and get .17?

I'm still seeing only .16 available and I didn't upgrade after the mixed comments

While updates do seem to be coming out a lot faster, I think it's too soon to expect an answer, or lack of an answer, that you could draw any conclusions from. I have recently gotten (and installed) my updates quite quickly, and I'm still waiting on this one.

Nobody said it was in your head. We were trying to help debug it. Weather and battery temperature is a factor, which means it must be ruled out. Through that thread, it was successfully ruled out as the main cause, at least.

It was clarified many times that nobody thought anyone else was delusional or lying.

He was describing his experience, but fair enough.

My update has been stuck at 16% for around 15 minutes. Probably loss of connectivity as software updates I hope.

After 453 miles today, can confirm the car drives amazing. Sounds fantastic, and has had fewer ADAS disconnects. Reacts better in curves it had trouble on, and doesn’t -not- activate in the wider than normal HOV lanes.

All that to say I am enjoying the robustness.
Wow! Congratulations!! I see this car has done 88K miles. Have you noticed any difference in performance, Battery life or anything else? How are the interior and exterior holding up?

Following.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't even start the update until the entire update has been successfully downloaded and verified.

When Lucid's developers aren't THAT bad to not do that.

Started up again. Whew!

I think the upgrade installation is progressing normally, but that the app's % completed report happens in fits and starts. I bet you'll notice that the percent, after not moving for a long time, will suddenly be way higher.... or even completed. I notice this whenever I have cause to actually watch the update's progress.

I didn’t say it was in your head. I said Lucid didn’t change regen. I’m still fairly certain they didn’t.

Doesn’t mean your car wasn’t experiencing some bug related to regen. A whole lot of things could cause a handful of cars in the fleet to experience odd behavior, as we’ve seen time and again.

My objection on this topic is always the assertion that “Lucid changed regen” which suggests purposeful tweaking of the feature. I simply don’t think that’s happening, based on all available evidence.

I think they changed the temperatures where they start limiting current being delivered into the battery.

This is my third winter with the Air. The place I stay in VT only has 120v charging. I drive there and leave it plugged in for 3 days and drive home. The past two winters when charging in cold weather (less than 20F) the battery always accepted a charge. Even overnight at minus 15F I gained some range.

This past weekend (my first trip of the season) it was around 15F all evening and the battery lost range over night and the app showed 0.3kw charging with a notice that the battery was too cold to charge. Never had that in the past.

Drove from SoCal to Phoenix this afternoon/evening. Was only able to use HFDA for 2 of the 5.5 hrs. The remainder of the trip on I-10 was “just” the Drive Assist with solid lines and unable to detect dashed lines. So no auto lane change available. Did an X and 🎤 reset to no avail. Hope the deep sleep cycle tonight brings it back to life tomorrow.

Interior, exterior, tech, driving dynamics, and battery are all great. Best car I’ve ever bought. And best car I’ve ever driven.
