Gravity Vehicles Available Online

Let us know what they say. I would like to trade our 22/23 for the 21/22.
They should just keep all those 22/23 in service centers as replacement parts for all the inevitable tire shortages in that size after the wheels are bent and curbed from potholes.

that's what my SA told me today as well. the wiring harness can't be added easily at a service center so won't be offered later. but he could of course not be up on things.
Until Lucid makes some official statement, I don't think it's wise to rely on a single Lucid employee, even a senior one. If I really want the ability to tow (and I do), I wouldn't rely on Lucid offering an upgrade on a purchased vehicle. They might. But they might not, or might not in the timeframe someone would like.

Interesting that they seem to have taken nearly 100 Gravity out of the available inventory today. I can’t imagine they sold them all. There’s only 34 left now.
I was wondering about this…would they take them down for fixes they found they needed? I wouldn’t think the fob work would do it? If they found a tell for the drive unit problems? It is a bad look to have inventory grow, but it’s worse to not maximally advertise your product for sale. At least that is my perspective.

Guessing you've never had a car with bigger wheels/smaller sidewalls. It's nowhere near as bad as people like to make it out to be.

Unless you live in north where it snows and the big wheels come on summer only tires with no all season alternative tire to change to.

I'm from the N originally, I'm aware. But saying that Lucid should stop offering the 22/23 option altogether because they'll all be bent and curbed from potholes is still a bad take.

My SC said a couple of weeks ago there would be Gravity loaners “soon” for Gravity owners. So I doubt they took 70 cars down for loaners, but maybe that’s what happened with some of them?

Back to the weird configs - I don’t get this at all. Loaded, with tech, but no dynamic handling? Why would anyone buy that? Why “waste” a HUD on that config? I guess it could be an orphan, but again, no idea why someone would buy everything BUT dynamic.

I agree that it's a very weird choice. I will say, though, that if you're someone who's not that familiar with the Gravity, not on this forum, not watching all the reviews, etc, the Lucid site doesn't do a great job of explaining that the dynamic handling package is more than the triple air plus "painted calipers".

The video shows a car using its air suspension to go up and down... which is great, but not exactly why we're all excited about it. They should show the air suspension up-and-down along side a video of some exciting "dynamic" driving (and perhaps a quote from Jason Camissa).

I almost think they should hide the part about the painted calipers... as a lot of people don't care about that, and won't think that they will ever notice the triple air or the dynamic driving and so skip the package (thinking about less technical people).

For “normal” folks they should probably highlight the rear wheel steering and show those wheels moving and mention easier navigation in tight areas, etc.

Can’t even see my calipers as I have the aero covers on, so you really have to look to even get a glimpse. I definitely don’t care about caliper color.

From the forum, people do actually order without DHP

Understood. Just think it’s an odd configuration (to me). That said, after having DDPro now, I would absolutely not get it again and would get Premium instead, so the idea of “almost fully loaded” does make sense to me. The reason I wouldn’t get pro is I don’t need the unique features from premium, but at time of order those weren’t clear. All good.

I'll admit that I wouldn't have added on Dynamic Handling until I had been on the forum for a bit and read and heard more about it. I think it was one of the Out of Spec review videos that mentioned that it was a "must have", as heard from one of the Lucid engineers. So that would be close to my order at a certain point in time.

I'm still waffling between keeping my DD2 Premium order, or upgrading to Pro (still waiting on a Gravity... and may possibly cancel and wait until next year). Seems like a lot of extra money to drive the car for you, when I mostly enjoy driving myself. Though having extra sensors sounds like a nice safety feature for rare cares when visibility is poor.. fog, rain, snow, etc. I feel like I would order it more on the presumption of extra safety... though other members are reporting how well it's been driving already, compared to Tesla autopilot, so maybe there's a slight benefit there as well.

DDPremium does everything Pro does except it won’t do hands free driving - which I really don’t need or want as I like driving most of the time. And it won’t recognize traffic lights - whatever that means in several years. And yes, it won’t have “FSD” - like capabilities whatever those are. But as someone who waited years and years for Tesla FSD after paying for it, I feel like a fool paying for DDPro (which I did).

Premium will keep you in your lane, modify speed and allows you to change lanes by tapping the stalk. That’s all I needed.

Both really good points. And, for leasing, there's a very real question as to whether DD Pro will get better than Premium in the time you have the vehicle. For owning, there is a possibility that the DD Premium will be worth something - depends on what Lucid actually does with it.

Again, this is discussed in the tow thread. It’s from multiple sources in service, not sales, that it will be offered.

Also, there are pictures of my gravity with the hitch cover removed and there is very clearly a connector there with a filler plug right where the 7 pin box goes on an equipped package. So the harness is there.

Yes, something could change, but for me this is a closed issue. I am no longer worried that i cannot add it in a few months.

A huge new batch of vehicles just showed up online again. My script noticed the total number of available vehicles jump from 41 this morning to 134 just now.

That's great. Let's hope that they sell quickly.

Interesting, a bunch of those are cars that disappeared from the site last week and just came back. Plus some I hadn't seen before.

Interesting that that 26 of these (almost 1/4) have Tech Package but are mostly on middle to lower spec vehicles. Meanwhile those of us who place orders for GGT with tech 6-10 months ago are still waiting. This random, grab any part off the shelf without any thought to what the real world demand is approach, is getting frustrating. I guess the good news is that if they have this many random GGTs with Tech, the shortage of HUDs might be over.

the "story" people on here have been supposing (far, far too credulously IMO) is that there is some game of parts availability whack-a-mole at the factory going on where they are, say, out of mid-size wheels or DDPro hardware when the HUD shipment comes in so they build whatever they can with whatever they can grab off the shelf. I personally find that really hard to believe.

OTOH, my theory, which is just that they're being dumbasses back at the factory, may also be hard to believe.
