Finally got WiFi working ... kind of

This is exactly the frustration I experienced when trying to get my LHC on my network.
After trying multiple times, I finally just gave up since none of the "features" are available anyway.
No idea how they will fix this but it's clear it's a low priority.

In the meantime, if the "connected" features of the LCHCS ever do become important, many are installing a device that can't be connected or updated without taking it apart and plugging in an Ethernet cable.

True. But I'm sure there will be enough of a furor at that time that more workarounds will be available.

I just installed my LHC, but--based on these types of threads--haven't tried connected it to my WiFi network since I have a low tolerance for tech FUBARs. I set the charge time and limit in the car, plug it in, and it works fine. Am I missing any useful features by not connecting via WiFi?

That was the secret sauce:

I didn't complete the setup yet, but at least I got into the browser's web page.
Yeah, I just suspected that due to the instruction saying the browser might throw a warning; that almost always means they are using a self-signed certificate for TLS, hence adding https.

It is obviously a mistake in the documentation. You should report it as I’m certain it has burned others too.

It’s not bad, it’s just the instructions are a little unclear.

You’re not missing anything today. Future eventual software updates, though. No, I have no idea if or when.

Congratulations! Which browser did you use and what from what device platform iPad? Win11? Details may help others facing similar issues
The browser should make no difference. The “trick” is making sure to use https, and not let the browser default to using http. You may get a “insecure” warning because it’s a self-signed certificate, but you can tell the browser it’s fine and keep going.

I used my Android phone this time S23+ and Chrome.

Well I have a Lucid Home Charger and have not even tried to hook into home Wi Fi
Use it once per week generally to take batteries up to 80% again and can monitor status on the Lucid App on my phone as it charges

What am I missing by not engaging Wi Fi?

I have my Charger hookup to my WiFi but, I don’t see any advantages to do so. When I go in the setup and setting I see that it is link to a Lucid cloud account but I find nothing either in this forum or over web and Lucid for those settings and benefits.

Is there a Lucid technicien that could give us more info about the Charger and all those settings and why we don’t have any data, logbook or benefits.

In Quebec, we do have a 600$ rebate if you have a charger and installation done BUT Lucid has never ask to have their charger be on the eligible list for subvention. I send them all the info on HOW to proceed, we are loosing money without any reason.

Sorry for my english

There is no benefit yet except future OTA updates.

Because they don’t exist yet.

Had Lucid home charger (NACS version) installed today.
Been stuck at that dreaded step of charger not connected to home wifi.

Yep, I changed the home network ip address to something other than 192.168.1.1.
I used 192.168.2.1.
Also changed the DHCP Server ip address range to 192.168.2.2 thru 192.168.2.254.
See image below.

Thought I was good because I was able to go to the cloud tab and enter my Lucid ID.
Then realized I was still connected directly to the charger, not making the change via wifi.

Interestingly, when connected to the charger and seeing the Device Configuration information, an ip address of 192.168.1.163 is shown. See second image below. Tried entering that ip address instead of the charger's default ip address of 192.168.5.1, but still not wifi connection.

Third image below shows the screen that displays after no connectivity.

Really thought I had this figured out from all the previous posts.

Waiting on call back from Customer Care.

Correction:

The second image I posted was the charger ip address after I had changed the home network ip address to 192.168.2.1.

When the home network address is 192.168.1.1 the charger ip address is 192.168.1.163.

When your laptop/phone was reconnected to 192.168.2.x, you couldn't access the LCHCS at 192.168.2.164?

Correct.

I can see the charger in the list of connected devices, based on its MAC address.
Shows it's connected at 2.4GHz.

That's the same behavior mine had while my home subnet was 192.168.1.x. It worked properly when I changed my home subnet to 192.168.2.x.
I repeated this experiment when I installed a new home wifi setup from a different vendor, and the result was exactly the same.

Worst case, you can temporarily connect an ethernet cable to the LCHCS for a few hours to let it update its firmware and try again, or ignore the problem and just use it as is.

When I ping that ip address, I get successful pings.

Test fails if I ping 192.168.5.1 which, I think makes sense if the router has assigned the charger the dynamic ip address of 192.168.2.164.
Maybe not.
