Gravity Delivery Discussion

Congrats!! Wait... you have Air DE #33 **and** Gravity DE #33? How did you manage that...
13 is my favorite number, and we got #013, so… someone somewhere must like us. :p

We can have a sill swap party. Trade sill badges with your favorite numbers. :)

So SA told me that Lucid recently changed Homelink to be standard on the GT and DE. If you see QRC in your Homelink screen, then the hardware is not installed, just open a mobile service ticket and they'll come out to install module once they have it. My next ticket after Jul 4th roadtrip.

@borski You are correct (as usual), case swap work for wireless charging on my iPhone. Bad case work with every Qi charging I throw it, just didn't work with Lucid. One less thing to complain to service center.

See this is why I’m a little embarrassed about initially complaining Lucid didn’t have Homelink. They’ve demonstrated repeatedly that if they are able to do something, they figure out a way, it just can take time and they don’t always communicate the situation to owners well, but they are responsive.

So, what's with the large blue oval reflection off the HUD screen onto the windshield in sunshine? Any way to make it go away?

I hate to bring this back up and wold be perfectly fine if you all just liked or disliked the post, rather than re-engaging the topic, but Torque news!(I won't link it here) did indeed run an "article" on the one Gravity owner who had issues which are now tracking with other owners (which several have speculated user error). And in an EV group I am part of, someone posted it and are concerned that Gravity isn't living up to all it was supposed to be. (No worries, I posted details and relayed most owners are having great experiences with some minor issues). I really just want to share so that we are mindful what we post here and other places can be taken on into other media and spun up. Be fair of course and call out issues you find and ask for help when lost, but be mindful that sometimes things will get taken a certain way without your consent or knowledge.

They are already building, and have delivered, black stealth in GT and DE. It's the black platinum they appear to be just getting going. So your orders may still be in the queue for build.

My SA told me explicitly (and my Lucid dashboard corroborates) that my order is not in any current production queue or pre-VIN status. I know they have delivered past lots of black stealth in GT and DE, but it does seem clear they are building these in batches, and my SA explicitly said that black stealth is not in the current batch. They may go back to a batch of black/stealth, but my understanding is that such a batch is not presently on radar.

The biggest issue I took with that poster was that some of the items were simply due to the fact they didn't know how it worked yet I got called out for being mean and dismissing and I predicted exactly what was going to happen, a media outlet picked it up and ran with it. Last I checked the OP never corrected themselves to say some of it was "user error" either but the damage was done.

Like you said, people should call out issues but also should choose words carefully and be 100% sure it's a car\software issue not an issue because you couldn't be assed to read the manual and figure out how to use something correctly. Making a mountain out of a mole hill for something that is probably extremely trivial will be picked up by a media outlet, blown out of proportion and people will just pile on.

There's probably less than 100 of these cars in peoples driveways, they WILL have teething issues and this isn't Lucid specific, happens to all car companies when a new model is released. Only so much testing and checking can be done internally to try and represent the real world.

Day 2.

Got Spotify set up
Got my 4 homelinks programmed - Auto open on approach is wonderful already
Got 3 different driver profile setup - transition is so fast

Only small niggles are the HUD reflection, turn signal camera graininess, and maybe only annoying to me, is when I take my seatbelt off, it always hits the door trim.

Well that’s extremely annoying. I’m an early Dream Edition Black Stealth, told May, then June, now it’s July and it’s still not even in pre-production yet. 😡

We know there's nothing we can do about media outlets looking to sensationalize posts from owners having issues.
Perhaps the best way to respond with the owners is to request that they provide follow-up posts that communicate how their issue(s) played out.

Accountability; responsible car ownership; transparency.
It's great that challenging ownership experiences are posted for the benefit of others.
Updates on the resolution of those experiences also benefits others.
Those who choose to not provide updates should be called out.

Only small niggles are the HUD reflection . . .

I was hoping that reflection was peculiar to our car and could be addressed somehow. I find it more than a small niggle. It's a large bluish blob and very prominent in certain sunlight conditions. Ironically, with polarized sunglasses the HUD disappears entirely, but that reflection remains.

I'm astonished that Lucid either did not catch this during design or just decided that owners could live with it. Frankly, I'd rather do without a HUD than have to get non-polarized sunglasses (particularly useful in Florida driving conditions) and live with that constant reflection.

I got a good pic of it. I have polarized lenses but I can still see the HUD...

I'm in the same boat, hoping for either a GGT black stealth fully optioned (except tech package, obviously, but with power pack) on 21/22, or GDE black stealth on 21/22. Ordered my GGT day 1, added the DE order after some hemming and hawing. I've been offered several cars with close-but-no-cigar configurations (mostly black GGTs without power pack, but also a green GDE with 22/23) but nothing tempting enough for me to bite. At $125-140K, I want to love what I get and not feel like I compromised.

I have black stealth DE in production right now.

Lucky dog. My SA says these are not in the queue. That said, I don't know if any of us know what "in the queue," or "in production," actually mean. Yours might have been made last batch but is in final checkout or staging for delivery? Or maybe it's in pre-VIN but all of those are allocated and my SA doesn't want to tell me? It's a very opaque process. At any rate, I am quite certain there is nothing with my name assigned to it yet, be that a manufactured vehicle looking for an owner, or a car making its way down the line now, or a hypothetical VIN that's just a twinkle in some production manager's eye. Sad trombone.

For those of you who have seen the movie "The Sixth Sense", that blue HUD reflection immediately had me thinking of the scene in the movie where Cole's mom is looking at some of his childhood pictures and sees the blue aura given off by the dead people around him.
