As far as the reasons for the delay — do we know whether Lucid has a stockpile of rare earth magnets? The top story on my WSJ concerned the potential shutdown of some automakers’ lines if the situation doesn’t improve.

They’re pushing the Air out as fast as they can. Yes, I know there are some differences in the motors, but feels like the delays are something more unique to the Gravity.

KSA models aren’t a problem and Lucid has sent minimum 600 Gravity over to KSA for final assembly.

All we know so far are 2 things publicly stated by Lucid. KSA models ended up being prioritized because they could make them. In NA it wasn’t just the HUD that was the problem but also the NACS booster to allow 225kW charging on Tesla V3 chargers. The NA model is the only Gravity model to have the NACS booster as it’s not as relevant to the rest of the world.

Whoa; where did you get the 600 number from? We've seen a few hundred in the flyovers, by 600 indicates a pretty serious production rate.

Sorry, I skimmed over it on X and should have dug in more. They were referring to Lucid sending 600 total to KSA in Q1 (Air+Gravity) so probably safe to say more Air were in that 600 than Gravity. We do know that 2 shipments have gone to KSA that have included Gravity in them.

It is kinda hard to believe they are going to be delivery these to customers before the end og the month if they haven't even produced enough showroom cars yet.

They have produced them. Production and delivery are two different things. Let’s not forget they’re also not stopping delivery on the airs. Natick got 20 airs delivered last week for customers! This is just what a ramp up looks like in a small car company with more than one model, I see no reason for disbelief.

If it has rear tinted windows then it's a truck, cars aren't allowed to have factory tint. I don't make the rules.

I think I read somewhere that it has to do with the weight as to why it was classified as a truck.

I read the same thing, at the very same crappy source linked above. I checked ground news, and that is the only source I can find. Thus, it is unreliable and trash info until there is a source that doesn’t constantly make things up. Even in that very same article he says “It remains unclear whether Motor Intelligence has reclassified the Gravity as a car or if Lucid registered no Gravity units in the month” and then proceeds to simply assume that it’s classified as a truck, based on length, not weight.

But by his metric, a BMW 7-series is a truck, as it is longer than Gravity. Hence my point: he is making shit up again.

Motor Intelligence, itself, may very well be trustworthy and right! But in order to find that out we’d have to understand what their categories and numbers mean, and I have not found a reputable source for that yet.

Maybe Lucid was breaking the law? They don't offer factory tint right now. I always thought it was illegal because I've never seen it as a factory option.
Lucid has sold trucks according to Motor Intelligence, just not in May. They sold them in April as the other poster mentioned (you can use wayback machine to see on their site). I don't know what their definition of "sale" is. I presume they're looking at registration data.

I don't think it's weight. The PT Cruiser was a truck too (good for getting those EPA CAFE numbers up!). I think it has to do with the load floor and ground clearance. I think there is also a different definition of truck between EPA and NHTSA.
