Software Improvements and Features Suggestions

I was surprised to find out that the nav system doesn't have favorites or prior destinations
Prior destinations show up below the address search / entry field on the pilot panel. Favorites is on Home / Work unfortunately

1- Speed limit: this feature temporarily adds a limit on the max speed the vehicle can reach, whether it’s manually set or automated based on the readings of traffic signs which is already integrated into the software (maybe add an option of relative/absolute offset to the max speed if it’s automated). I’ve seen this feature in some European cars, and it’s actually very useful, especially in a car so comfortable on the highway like our Lucid Air, that we don’t feel we’re going as fast as we actually do, and tend to realize we’re doing 90 mph on a 65 mph because it’s on smooth mode and we didn’t pay attention. Similar to ACC, the set-point of the speed limit can be adjusted easily using the controls on the steering wheel, or turned off to overtake another vehicle for example. Some of us still enjoy manually driving our vehicles and don’t completely rely on ACC/HA, and a speed limiter can help in avoiding unintentionally going above the speed limit (or 10 miles / 10% above that).
I have this on my Genesis GV60P and it is one of the features I have turned off. I think it is a safety issue. I don't want my car limiting my speed when I suddenly need it. But...different strokes for different folks.

I get the feeling a lot of people come from older legacy automakers so Lucid seems super modern and high tech and awesome, and yea I get it. If your last car was an old jaguar, then sure the Lucid tech features seem great.

But it’s a real bummer to me that the software is such a huge step behind Tesla, Rivian, etc…when things like the automatic unlocking doesn’t work half the time and I have to stand outside the car waving my phone around. Or profile switching taking half an hour. The homelink button getting lost in reverse, it took them 2 years to fix that but I guess they finally did lol. But to me it really sours what’s actually a pretty solid product.
I agree that automatic unlocking can be problematic. Once I was at a spot (about 3 miles from downtown Leesburg VA) when the car wouldn't unlock. I had to call my wife to bring the plastic door key to unlock the car. Apparently the Lucid couldn't connect with a satellite so it couldn't respond to my phone! I have also had it take a long time to unlock - I recognize "waving the phone around."

There's no satellite or Internet or any other remote connectivity involved with the mobile key. It's Bluetooth directly between your phone and the car, that's it. That doesn't help explain why it wasn't working, but it's likely a problem on the phone. Sometimes force-quitting and restarting the Lucid app helps. However, this is why you should carry the key card with you as a backup.

I drove a Tesla for 6 years. I prefer everything about Lucid…including its software. I think it’s more what you want in a car and how you use tech for your car. Admittedly Tesla’s software is more “advanced” at certain things, but they don’t really matter to me and the overall experience of my Air GT is far superior to my Tesla. Of course I have zero issues with either my key fob or using my phone as a key. I had a 2022 AGT that DID issues with those things and THAT got old really fast!

I'd like proximity sensing (mobile key) that doesn't leave me looking an idiot every time I walk up to the car and pushing handles and hoping something happens so that I can get into my hundred thousand $$$ car, or leaves me guessing if it locked when I left. I'd like to not look like in idiot in every parking lot, every time... it sorta harshes the luxury vibe in a huge way - it's a total buzz kill. This should not be rocket science. My Tesla just worked 100.0000% of the time.

The only thing I know about mobile key is that it works flawlessly, 100% of the time when I wander into the garage, forgetting why I needed to go there in the first place; but it almost NEVER works when you've got your hands full, or when you've drawn a small crowd of spectators who've gathered around to ogle your beautiful, brand new Lucid.

A 'lock doors after you reach 5mph' would be WONDERFUL. example... backing out of the garage to take my daughter to school. I get in, start car.. back up (doors lock instantly) ..daughter meets me outside as i'm done backing up. me fumbling to unlock the car as she yells at me "unlock the car!".

This. Works great when I don't need it too (e.g. wander into garage scenario), crapshoot other times, and hands full when you need to open the trunk, have to go nearer the drivers door than back and sometimes have to press the door handle too. Have had to modify my behavior to get the phone to wake up prior to getting close to the car (bluetooth wake up). Works better doing that, but still often I have to also press the door handle. Sometimes I'll even use the Lucid widget (IOS) and press the unlock button as I approach so there's a better chance by the time I get there (which is the same as (is) using the app functionality to unlock the car). Minor in the grand scheme of things, and I realize it's likley the phone's bluetooth state causing most of the inconsistancy, but still... when you are shocked when it works as advertised there's certainly room for improvement.

Other minor irritant is I often take my dog in the car for a short drive so we can park and take a walk in a more fun area for dog walking. Often I get out of the car, close the drivers door, walk around to the rear passenger door and just as I reach for the open door handle, and retracts and locks! I'm not being slow either (and it does not always happen). Then I'm standing there banging on the door handle which takes an inconsistent time to respond. Would be nice to have a setting for the time before auto-lock.

Same happens with my grandkids in the car seat. I have been begging Lucid for more options for unlocking and unlocking since the beginning, such as a user selectable delay like you mentioned. It’s ridiculous that they can’t add a simple timer. I don’t like the idea that the car locks on my way from the passenger side rear seat to the driver side. I never get more than a foot from the car and have my phone with me. That said, your reaction is a bit overstated. Simply take your phone out of your pocket, wake it up and hold it to the window and the car will unlock again. Shouldn’t have to do that at all, though.

Some will respond that I should just carry the fob, but I don’t consider that a solution. I have zero other keys. My wife’s car also uses the same phone as a key functionality and works flawlessly, with multiple options. I’m shocked that Lucid hasn’t at least solved this problem for their newest Air models. The fact that they continue to sell this flawed functionality is very disappointing.

I don't carry a fob either (card in wallet as backup), and I often (more and more) do taker my phone out and hold it near the window. That works, most of the time, but not always and there is sometime a significant delay still. I find it mildly inconvenient, but chalk it up to an early design decision and it is what it is. Does not detract from my enjoyment of the car, just wish it was more consistent or just a bit better.

On a side note, sometimes I wave my iPhone near the door and it gets too close to the NFC area and my phone switches to Apple Pay :) Maybe I should pay the car some money and it will work better ;-)

I’m not sure the phone automatically switches to Apple Pay. You might be accidentally double tapping the button swinging it around! What I forgot to mention is that it’s also infuriating that the trunk won’t unlock from the back. Just today I had my grandson in one arm and a bag of stuff for the beach and the other… Can’t put it in the trunk without putting him down and walking around the side of the car. Don’t like that.

it drives me INSANE that I can't open the trunk w/o unlocking the car first. one would imagine that a car designed around the best experience for a driver and it's passengers, completely thwarts you from the basic experience of 'entering the vehicle'. teaching my daughter to drive in my old Merc C300.. she said as we got in that car the other day, "I like that this car lets you in". Back to the trunk thing... I tried siri several times (using the commands on the app that they suggest), and it keeps reminding me that I need to unlock the car before asking siri to do so. So I do... walking towards the car with my phone waiting for the app to 'connect'.. then press 'unlock'... waaaaaaiting....it asks me to confirm that I want to unlock the car. ..i confirm. (literally standing next to the car at this point)... car still not unlocked... another try... it unlocks. "hey siri, open my lucid trunk" ....wait..... nothing. ...then decide to use app again to open the trunk... "confirm open trunk?". ...No, actually, I'll just use the button on the trunk at this point and go the lucidowners forum to complain.

There was a bug fix 18 days ago and @marqie just mentioned another update was planned. Can we please stop with the hyperbole?
Can you help me know what bug was fixed? Its not hyperbole, everyone's needs are different. If you are happy with what Lucid is doing its good. I think nothing wrong in posting what is said.
I am an owner that purchased this car for driving and futures that are expected for a nee generation vehicle. I am just looking for new updates wither bug fixes or new set of future's little frequent than how it is today one month to 6 months long.
Lucid is in a space where OTA’s are expected, if we start saying what we get at purchase is what it is, than Lucid is not gonna sell millions like they expected.

2..6.11 was released on March 19th and was to fix an issue with the door potentially opening as very low speed

While bug fixes and OTAs on cars, especially EVs, are "way-of-life", Lucid's track record and (lack of) communication is sub-par (the most polite term I can come up with).

As the number of models/trims proliferates and different suppliers/components are used in different trims/models, such updates/OTAs can become very complicated unless there is a well-managed tracking algorithm. Look at the several recent OTAs followed by rapid successions of bugs, patches, and OTA bifurcations. All of these should have been flushed out in the SW validation process.

Yes, validations is not perfect either. But it is necessary to minimize the fits-and-starts.

Also, any word on AA? Is it still postured as a Google issue?

Listen, if Lucid were to thrive, it must get its act together on its SW!
