Feedback/improvements for the Air!

Hmm, then you shouldn't need a pin to drive. Maybe delete and re-add it?
Careful. Here’s what happened to me once I deleted the mobile key…

According to a Lucid Studio person, the wallet card is not for the valet. Rather, the fob is. The fob is supposed to be the least used means of getting into the Air.
LIES!

Why would there be an expectation that the most consistent passive means of unlocking the car would be only for valet. That is just stupid. The default expectation is a card that has to be gotten out every time will be most used. Lucid needs to work on Studio staff training.

Yea it really should be Mobile Key > FOB > Key card. Though, I full expect people using the FOB and Mobile key will be fairly equal.

I just report what I hear. And I'm pretty sure the studio person assumed that all means of unlocking the car are equally reliable.

I think it is time I give the mobile key another chance. It was so unreliable 1.0.5 I deleted it and have been using the fob. I would much prefer to use the mobile as my default.

Well, have your frustrations abated from the last time ? :p

I’ve been waiting as the fob has been consistent with 1.2.1. I wanted to enjoy the positive experience for awhile.

Note for new owners, the fob can go through a battery. If the fob does not seem to be working as expected after 2-3 months. Try a new battery. The low battery warning on the dash works, but the fob might underperform prior to the warning.

The mobile key has been working great for me since 1.2.1.

Mobile key is set up. I’m going to try and use it exclusively for a week and see how it goes with 1.2.1. No worries, I have the valet key in my wallet.

I anxiously await an update on this a week from now

I’m doing some work in the garage and have tried it twice so far. Worked well. Car was not in sleep mode, so we will see how it does in the daily driver world starting Monday.

I find the mobile key works best if you click on the Lucid app icon when heading to car. Takes about 20 or 30 seconds for car to wake up. I do not enjoy the pushing the door handle routine. At times it presents itself and immediately goes back to seated position.

You have to press the handle harder. I know, it’s scary, but give it a solid push.

“You’re pushing it wrong”. Please don‘t……

Lol. While that is technically what I’m saying, I *had* this exact problem. When I started pushing it harder, it worked every time. YMMV, but it’s worth trying.

Thanks. I was pushing it pretty hard but will try a mighty push when I get car back. Although I like use opening the app as I’m heading out to the car.

:)

I think there are a couple of things I need to test while comfortably sitting in the garage.
  • I had to reboot while on the return leg from Scottsdale. I had never done a reboot (GPS issue), and I would say the first 10 mins were very frustrating (and all failed) - I even reverted to calling customer services. I was eventually successful, but had to get everybody out of the car. now, I know this is not necessary - but it was the way I was successful. So now I am going to test it without passengers - in daylight - in a safe location
  • I have been carrying both fob and phone for the week, and the car unlocks beautifully. The one time I didn’t have the fob - I thought NP, I got my phone. Could I get in?? Nooooo. So again, need to find out why - somewhere safe, warm, etc :)

I guess my question is, are key cards (like a credit card) becoming the common practice with all cars including ICE? Reason I ask is will valet personnel keep track of it like keys they hang on hooks? For years now I've kept my car keys separate from my other keys.
