They will have to produce both, so nothing to worry about. NACS and the rear location only make sense in the US.If production vehicles will have a NACS charging port toward the rear, should we be surprised or concerned that these "spotted in the wild" vehicles still have the charging port toward the front (same as with the prototypes that have previously been put on display)? Or is moving the location of the charging port a relatively straightforward aspect of the production process?
Unfortunately not every car manufacturer realizes this: there are quite a few BEV with the charging port on the rear left in Europe - they just don't bother doing that differently for different markets ...They will have to produce both, so nothing to worry about. NACS and the rear location only make sense in the US.
Uhh..... I wouldn't be so confident on that. They will have to produce both, so nothing to worry about. NACS and the rear location only make sense in the US.
Uhhhh....Just like the gas fill for conventional cars is always on the same side.
This is the first picture I've seen with the charge port in the back. All the previous pictures (at least in this thread) show the front fender charging port. If this is really coming to the production versions, then there is hope that they will have more than 50kW charging.Credit to BalticRussian on Reddit
"Gravity charging on Tesla supercharger with native NACS"
Which Nick Twork now says:Nick Twork commented on a X post of this photo.
“Gravity will launch in NA with a native NACS connector. You are seeing a prototype charging with an adapter.”
Also, I am not able to edit my reply above but it looks like that prototype was not actually using an adapter.
Nice! Did anyone get a sneak peek at the rate at which the vehicle was charging?
I am going to point out that the back of the Gravity is similar enough to a Pacifica that when I first saw it that my gut level reaction was “it looks like a minivan”. My wife had an even better response “Lucid is making a minvan?!?!” (said excitedly). The front definitely doesn’t look like one, but I really hope that back doesn’t trigger the ever prevalent “ew a minivan!” reaction from others.
Oh! That would be wonderful to know!Nice! Did anyone get a sneak peek at the rate at which the vehicle was charging?
