My Touring is a year old - haven't replaced the blades yet - they seem to be clearing as designed. That said, there is a design flaw (not uncommon) where the Drivers side blade flings excess washer fluid on the passenger side windshield, after the passenger side blade is most of the way down. Since that's the resting position, the remaining washer fluid sits right in the passenger (wifey's!) line of sight. Even a second, third and sometimes fourth extra wipe (without fluid) leaves the droplets, because the remaining washer fluid is still clinging to the drivers blade. First world problem, but a bit annoying - I assume it has bothered others on this forum ?
Just sold my 1993 MB 500e (W124 chassis) . . . those cars (all W124's) had a beautiful single wiper system - like a Lemans racing car. Wiper arm pivot axis was centered on the windshield, and on a cam that allowed it to move outward slightly as it moved toward each upper corner of the windshield. The design offered excellent (90% ?) sweep of the windshield (with sightlines that I would kill for in the Lucid - another topic), and never pushed water into the other blade - because there wasn't one. Aside from doing it's job well, also very cool to watch. I don't understand why other manufacturer's didn't copy it (patents?) and more perplexingly, why MB forfeited it. Maybe they couldn't take the financial hit of selling 50% fewer replacement blades ?
