Lucid Air gets MAJOR price decreases...

I literally got a 2024 3 weeks ago and the massaging seats was not even an option one could get.
In the configurator, last time I checked the 2024 Pure and Touring both had massaging front seat options. By not available as an option, do you mean in the available inventory or custom orders as well?

It was as momo3605 states if you choose leather you can't get massage. I got was an available configuration at the driving event in Houston. They had some 2024 there...

@xponents you can't get leather and massaging seats on a Touring. So you can't order a spec that's BETTER than a 2023.

Thank you for the correction. Thats a weird omission...

So is free EA charging officially gone for new purchases?
At least for me when I got an inventory 2024, it had 1 year EA charging. I think the issue is when you put your RESERVATION, or if your CAR is inventory or not, which goes back when it was configured...

I wonder if Gravity will follow.. in that case, Lucid will take over the world. Or maybe it was to create a gap between the Gravity or this?
I think it's to create space. Demand for Gravity will be 5-10x the Air...they don't need to price them the same. But it's also important to remember that these are BASE prices. If the Gravity follows the Air model, you're not going to be getting 400 miles, leather, glass roof, or lane keeping for < $100k

I've been close to picking up an Air Pure on several occasions but they have continually reduced prices/increased incentives. At this rate, I have a feeling as they get close or begin Gravity launch they will have a better sale on Pure, maybe even closer to $60k base (one could only hope).

if you have the patience to wait indefinitely, then yes of course, cars will continue to get better and cheaper!

No they won’t, Gravity will start just below 80k, around 79k. The Air will be 10k below that. Not any less. This will be the cheapest price. As demand picks up, these incentives will go away. If you are serious about getting an Air, time is now.

I mean, thats what was said when the Pure was 77k..

Go compare with EQS and Taycan pricing. Lucid clobbers them right now. I don’t see any more cuts coming. Even a well specced inferior BMW i4 comes close to 60k. This is the bottom for the Air.

How much lower you want them to go? It doesn’t make sense to sell Air for 60k when midsize is coming in at 50k. They priced base sedan 10k below base SUV. Gravity pricing will be aggressive from the start having learned from past pricing effects. This is it folks! You want an Air, it’s time to buy.

I agree, $69k a very aggressive starting price. i think there may be some additional consolidation of options though. DDP for example is a huge ripoff compared to the competition. Either they need to make highway assist free and keep the DDP money for R&D on future improvements, or make DDP free

DDPremium is the sweet spot and totally worth it, IMO

I think these days 360 cameras on most cars is actually an expensive premium option. Lane keep assist is free on most cars. So yea, they can charge $2k for 360 cameras, but basic Highway assist should still be free

Poor guy, he got traumatized by the Porsche experience leading him to believe 360 cams are a premium option 🤣

Maybe, but the LIDAR still costs money and that's the option Lucid chose to Highway Assist. Other companies charge for L2 ADAS, so I don't see why Lucid shouldn't either. Granted, it's not at the level of BlueCruise or SuperCruise, but hopefully soon 😁

By any chance did you look at the options for the car you bought? Surround view is part of a $15k package on the EV9 buddy :)

Yeah true, I was joking. My parents could care less about that feature though, as its utterly useless compared to the Lucid's brilliant implementation! Also, its not a "package," those are trim levels like pure, touring, etc.
