just got the lucid touring and love it. Had two model s Tesla since 2014 and also have a rivian pickup. (Gonna sell Lucid or Rivian). Only put 200 miles on Lucid and it is the most fun car to drive I have ever driven. However, tonight I got in to go to the store and it won’t run. Turns on for 30 seconds and then does this. Was on hold for an hour and they say someone will call tomorrow. I expected issues and am most concerned with how they handle them. I tell my friends that buying a brand new electric car is like buying a new house. There are going to be punch list items but instead of waiting on your contractor to come back and fix them, the car company h will fix it with an over the air update or come out the next day to service it. We will see how they handle this. I’m cheering for them. Tesla is a great car but they are everywhere now and I hope these new companies will give them a run for their money.

I got a drive system fault today as well. Mine is different, it's the "amber" color and my car still works. I called tech support and they don't seem terribly concerned about it which bothers me. I'm supposed to be driving out of town on Friday but now I don't really trust my ability to take the car through the Nevada desert.

Mine triggered right after an update. I thought it might be a false positive, but it won't go away after sleeping.

Sorry to hear that. I definitely don’t feel comfortable taking it to see family in Tennessee from Georgia either. Let’s hope it’s just a bump in the road.

That's too bad, keep us posted. As a new Touring owner, with about the same mileage as you, very interested in what they find. I'm going to take my first short road trip out of town tomorrow and while I'm sure I'll enjoy it, I can't help but keep things like this in the back of my mind.

I’m sure you will be fine. When it works it is a really fun car. I will share my experience so other Lucid owners can know what to expect. I really want Lucid to thrive but how they handle these situations is what will give me confidence that they have the leadership and values to compete. My Rivian took me to a charger that wasn’t fast enough to charge us back up and Rivian sent a Lyft to take us home and another to take us back the next day after the slow charger had charged us up. They answered immediately and stayed on the phone at 2am until we were safe. And paid for it all.

I had this happen about 6 months ago. I drove it and the warning went away after about 0.5 miles. For that half mile performance was very sluggish. After that half mile everything was fine. I had service look at it but they could not find anything wrong with it. I suggest driving a couple of miles not too far from home.

So ShawshankEd, were/are you able to drive or are you bricked?

I drove about 50 miles with it on yesterday and it was still there. The upshot is there was no performance difference that I could tell. But I’m still skittish about taking the car on a road trip with it there.

If you haven't tried it yet, definitely do a reset, preferably valet card or turn signal methods. One of the previous software updates presented a bunch of errors in my GT, but a reset made them all go away. Keep us all posted on what you find out regardless...

This looks to me to be another example of bad software. The software noted something to cause it to pop that warning, and there needs (in EVERY such case) to be a log entry made with a unique indicator of what test in the software failed (along with lots of other diagnostic information).

Why do you assume Lucid's cars do not keep detailed logs?

Without more information, you don't know whether your "bad software" allegation is on target or wild speculation. I would bet that the logs would provide information, and detail a hardware sensor alert, then that the service team didn't have that information readily available, didn't check, or that when checking the hardware unit, didn't find anything that would have triggered the sensor. Third-hand information is easy to misinterpret, allegations easy to make. Outside of your first sentence, though, I'd fully agree.

If the sw (& hw) was doing the job, we wouldn't have "don't know" type responses... been there, cleaned up messes like these.

Since its amber, I think its be drive system warning and not fault. I get this amber warning every time i start driving. Fault is likely red.

Agree, however, sometimes there can be 10+ entries with very similar time stamp and very cumbersome to decipher what was the culprit. Time stamps may come with signal but may also be the time it entered the log/computer. Thus, signal latency also needs to be taken into account and added manually. Also, not all signals may even be logged. But, yes, for a good desiged system/log its always possible to decipher what occurred. Albrit may even take some days to investigate and not always for the average engineer to be capable enough of doing dependent on sofistication of log design.

I have recently been getting an amber Drive System Warning upon first putting the car in reverse. It clears on its own after about 20 seconds, but the small amber warning icon remains on the lower right of the glass cockpit. Don't know how to clear it. Haven't contacted CS yet as it doesn't seem to be limiting performance...
