Lets share our stories about how many of us have been "tested" by other cars

I have never lived anywhere there were lots of Chargers until I moved to CA. I assumed it was a weird football fan thing from when I lived in San Diego, but they are all over the Bay Area as well.
It's a popular rental car when you check the box for "sport". That could be part of it.

My experience was a bit of a surprise and unintentional. A Charger was driving in the left hand lane 10+ under the speed limit. Slid past in the right hand lane and floored it because I wanted to with a race being the last thing on my mind. Next thing I know I hear the roar of an engine behind me. Watched in my rear view mirror a clearly upset petrol sport's car owner hitting a 100+, losing control within 100 yards of my car, and barely correcting the fish tail back into the left hand lane... It was a Super Sport (SS means that, right?).

No issues with dude as I followed him most of the way to work. It was unpleasant though to watch his car nearly hit me at a 40+ mph differential.

My reply is not about a road race "test," but nevertheless about being tested in the AGT. I do not permit myself to even think about a road race. The AGT is more agile and powerful than all but a very few cars and we do not need to demonstrate this on public roads.

My story happened recently at an intersection at which I was stopped in the left lane waiting for the traffic to clear. On my right, a Subaru SUV incongruently displaying a large NHRA label on the driver's side passenger rear window stopped next to me. The driver, whom I hesitate to characterize further gave me the middle finger, rolled down his window, started yelling at me, and invited me to fight him. I proceeded on my journey as the traffic cleared without further harassment. Where are the police when you need them? My surmise is that he was very upset about EV's or maybe specifically the AGT. My son in Denver told me about a similar incident with his Model 3 a couple of years ago and that Tesla owners there started putting Honda insignia on their cars to deter vandalism and harassment.

What’s your location?

My first week of ownership. I came out of store in parking lot saw a M3P parked next to my AGT and walking around to take pictures. When I opened my door, he approached me. “Sir! Wanna race for $100?” I didn’t know if it was a for real or a tease. I replied back, “I race you to see who can get to Dallas first?” (I didn’t need a charge to get there unlike he does)

Ha! But I was really needed to go to Dallas that weekend. I don’t race for gamble, that’s child’s play. If I do, why not shoot 2 birds with 1 stone. 😆

Don’t mean to stereotype being descriptive, he was a brown skin young IT looking geek. I chucked all day of his challenge. 🥹

I got tested alright, and got my a$$ handed to me by a lowly Tesla Model Y Performance.

He bested me from one green light to the next red light, a quarter mile away. I chickened out by not flooring my AGT, and got my clock cleaned.

He pulled far enough ahead of me that he was able to cut me off, cross over to the right lane, slow me down, and make me wait behind him to complete the same right turn we were both making.

Humbling, humiliating, distressing and downright annoying and just maddening. I’m still worked up just thinking about it to this day.

No, no hard feelings at all, about this really vexing incident.

Wow, grounds to be removed from the forum?? Seriously a Y??

Just kidding!

I was feeling cocky with a Model S but restrained myself. When he passed, I noticed that it was a Plaid!

That’s why you should always carry rocket launchers in your car.

We used to be friends.

If BusDriver gets removed from the forum because of a Tesla Y, I wonder how forum members would react to my story:
Three days into my ownership, I was in the left lane at the light. To my right was another car. The left lane will merge into the right lane after the intersection. When the light turned green, I just casually sped up, planning to merge ahead of the other car, not thinking much about this at all. All of a sudden, I heard the loudest engine noise to my right, making me wonder if the driver was racing me. Seeing that it was a young driver and hearing all the groaning and moaning from his car, I felt sorry for the guy, went into my Zen mode and just let him pass.
And the car he was driving was: ....... ......... a VW Beetle, LOL.
So sorry that I let this happen to a Lucid Air.
