Lets share our stories about how many of us have been "tested" by other cars

Probably wasn’t a plaid or even a Raven performance but a garden variety model S. Which I might add is still no slouch.
Definitely not a Plaid, I am guessing it was a 90D with the Ludicrous mode thing. I think the Plaid might be pretty much the only thing that can take an Air. Well, an Air -P at least.

Cars like the Lucid Air DE, GT, Porsche Taycan and Tesla Mode S Plaid make ICE sportscars obsolete.
No, while these EV's have stupid fast acceleration and hide there heft very well on curvy roads, they still have the heft.

Oh and one more thing, I know I will never go hunting for a tunnel in my AGT

I wonder what the lucid would sound like with a cat delete and straight pipes. Lol.

On my test drive, I passed a Model S when I was accelerating on to the highway, just seeing what it had. I slowed down to 70 when I realized how fast I had gotten up to. I saw the Tesla in my rearview speeding up to catch us. I'm sure he was expecting to school us, but when I floored it as he caught up to us, he was clearly smoked, even with his "rolling start". I slowed way down and apologized to my test driver when I realized we were doing around 120mph. He said, "yeah, I saw that dude!" and just laughed! He did ask that I slow it down so he didn't get into trouble...
Lol! I think we may have had the same guy take us on our test drives.

There is a decent length tunnel on rt 9 near me that I love to drop down to third and drive my Z8 through. It is simply music with its low restriction sprint exhaust, hamann headers and Dinan modded M engine. It’s BMWS take on “ride of the Valkyrie “

I rode in my friends manual M4 the other day. There is something to be said about the engine rumble and a manual transmission. Not just the noise, the vibration as well. And manually changing gears. Hard to get that same connection with an EV.

I think there will always be a place for ICE cars. Eventually it will mainly be enthusiasts I guess

You just made me change my mind about get rid of my Boxster when I get back home.

My favorite (MYLR) challenge has a slightly different "spin" in that I cruised passed my opponent going about 30 mph. I was stopped at a light and some guy pulls up next to me, looks over, and starts revving his engine... you know, with "the look". I sat up straighter, hands up on the wheels, looking forwarding intently, and the light turns. He peels out to get ahead of me, and I never even moved. I put my foot on the accelerator gently and cracked a slight smile as I drove past him pulled over on the side of the road with the flashing blue lights behind him of the cop I had seen parked on the side of the road ahead. Remember to evaluate your environment for any possible leverage to win with the least effort possible.

Good move. Firstly, stoplight racing is dangerous aside from being illegal, or at least worthy of LEO notice and likely action. Next, what is the point? Driving to endanger? Out-accelerating another vehicle? Try a day of high-performance driving on a closed circuit to test your skills if you must, but stay safe on public roads.

I guess they don’t have a speed limiter set on the test drive cars :)
They don’t, but when I took my test drive a few months back, my ride along told me that all speeds above 97 get reported to corporate. This came about when someone at Millbrae went 110 and the test drive employee was reprimanded for allowing it. Sooo hopefully they got rid of the reporting element and that employee didn’t get in trouble!

I had my "speed-limiter" sitting in the back seat during my test drive. My wife kept reminding me that I was "not driving my car".

For some reason I always get challenged by Dodge Chargers. Must be a CA thing. It was the same with my Model S. I never race them. I simply drive normally and pass them anyway.

LOL…I simply drive normally and pass them anyway…

It's everywhere, they're speeding away in hopes you don't see the mullet.

Model 3 performance was goosing me on an interstate on-ramp today. They’re pretty quick. Once I realized he was trying to race me, I went past him with my wife screaming loudly at me at 114 mph. “Sorry, honey, I can’t help it.”

Saw this yesterday. Made me laugh. Also, as much as I love 1-pedal driving, it did make me miss 3-pedal driving a bit.

I wonder how many post-millenials have been taught how to drive a manual transmission.

3 pedals - manual clutch
2 pedals - automatic with brake
1 pedal - Accelerator/degeneration
0 pedal - On/off button leave to A.I.

I have never lived anywhere there were lots of Chargers until I moved to CA. I assumed it was a weird football fan thing from when I lived in San Diego, but they are all over the Bay Area as well.
