Newbie question about wipers.
I tried the wipers when it was raining on auto lo and auto high and they weren’t very sensitive to the rain actually impeding my view. It only really worked when I switched to the continuous low or high speed. Is it just my car or is this normal?

I also don’t have a windshield wiper fluid empty error but nothing comes out. I’m guessing that maybe they forgot to fill up the fluid when I received delivery…. But they why no warning i on the sensor display?

Every car I've ever owned has variable success with auto wipers. Some days or some rain events everything seems to work perfectly. Other days the sensing detection seem slow and necessitates intervention by using continuous settings. So I don't think this issue is unique to Lucid, I just think it's endemic to rain sensing wipers in general.

I absolutely love this car but this is one of my pet peeves. Honestly I sometimes lean towards taking my wife's car in the rain because the wiper speed can be so frustrating. Maybe it's a personal thing but I'm really sensitive to the perfect wiper speed.

Also the wipers get smeary very quickly compared to other cars I've had. Normally I would keep a few packs of blade inserts and, if cleaning didn't fix them, pop a new set in every few months as needed, but no dice here.

Service should happily sell you some blade inserts.

Do I just ask for them at my next service or can they be shipped?

I imagine you’d ask at your next service, but I don’t know; I haven’t ever needed to do it.

Call service and ask.

Try cleaning the wipers with some alcohol on a cloth or paper towel to remove any oil or grease. This works until the blades wear out.

The wiper sensor is better than the ‘23 and newer Tesla’s but worse than the older Tesla’s and BMWs. What compounds this issue is the the one cheap part of the interior that I’ve found is the wiper button on the end of the stock. Not the most tactile button ever.

You are not alone when it comes to the intermittent wipers. The sensitivity is off when it comes to light rain. I find myself pressing the button on the stalk frequently to clear my windshield.
