What is your lowest SOC?

I got down to 4 miles left to go, with red battery indicator, and the DC fast charger was 10 miles away from Dell, WY. I had to go very slow (50 mph) with my emergency flashers going while on the 15 freeway that had a posted speed of 80 mph. Cars and 18 wheelers having to pass me in the rain and my windows fogging up. Did not want to use the defroster due to it using power. Finally made it to an off-ramp and pulled into a motel that I was able to use and extension cord to plug into a 110 outlet in the laundry room. The funny thing was right across the street was a Tesla fast charging station that I couldn’t use. I was able to charge up 10 miles so I could make it to the EA station in Dell. It was a very close call. I left with an estimated range of 288 miles and only had to go 214, I thought I could easily make it. I have been only getting between 60% to 70% of stated range. Unfortunately I did not take a picture of the front panel.
I've noticed rain will drop your range A LOT like 60%...

Why would rain drop range?
Because driving through water produces a lot of friction? My mi/kwh is always worse in the rain

Why would rain drop range?
The tires pump (accelerate) water quickly through and out the treads. It takes a lot of energy to do this at freeway speeds if rainfall is heavy enough to form much of a film of water. I never saw a 60% hit, but 20-30% was in the ballpark.

Sorry I should have clarified, heavy rain will end up with me at 60% of epa instead of 80%

but EVs are supposed to be towed via a flatbed so the wheels would not be spinning.....
It was a Tesla, search on YouTube. Some people posted getting electricity without charging.

Lol shouldn’t it be when in park mode? Or maybe it just didn’t have enough battery to be accurate anymore
I swear even in park it was slightly right because the car is consuming power...

You’re right, I think it is usually slightly to the right. Low energy mode engaged automatically at somewhere around 7-9% SOC may have something to do with straightening it out 🤷‍♂️

Never mind. It’s dead center on park, but slightly to the right in R, N and D.

Living dangerously I see…
Haha not intentionally. I was heading back to San Diego from Orange County and according to my range estimate I had 40 miles more than I would need. So figured I might as well punch it home at 90-100 all the way and save some time. The ignominious end to the story is me aggressively trying to hypermile the last bit of the journey as my battery went alarmingly low, probably losing back a lot of the time I had originally intended to gain.

So cool that this car can get 98kw in 30 min. Certainly takes the sting out of whatever software issues there are. You can basically put two Nissan Leafs (Leaves?) into the car in the amount of time it would take to charge a Leaf to 70%.
Now that is really a rather unique take on battery capacity.

I've had my SOC down as low as 50 miles remaining. My wife, who likes to live on the edge, once had our Chevy Bolt down to 3 miles!

My lowest is only 80 miles, which is now and it is being charged tonight. My wife had the Leaf at 3 several miles from our house. I drove another car and we swapped. It hit zero on the way up the hill. I was just praying it wouldn’t die there. Made iit home, but was sweating bullets.
