I wonder at what point in the year they will start designating cars as 2023 models?

Hopefully will take delivery end of June per my delivery advisor Leo.

From another thread. If people who ordered GT as late as this March are going to get their cars by June, I would have to think they are getting close to caught up with GT orders now. GT-P orders are in the mix, too. But that's likely in the 100s of cars, not thousands.

That should mean Touring production will begin on schedule.

I also imagine they will need at some point to be running simultaneously between new GT orders, and Touring, and Pure. It'll be interesting to see how they handle that.

I recently an email from my Lucid contact that states, We have started to invite our Turing early reservation holders to place their orders. I reserved March 17,2021. Hope this is not more company hoping for a miracle.

I got the opposite of that email saying no confirmations have been sent out and won't until Q3, that being said - SAs are likely last to know the most up-to-date information:

Whenever the first car was made and designated a VIN number will be when they have to move over to 2023. Probably around October timeframe.

For what it's worth, my reservation for a Touring was made 12/15/2020. They just updated my design changing "Available Q3 2022" to "Available Q4 2022".

We have been told this is a general website update and not indicative of those who reserved prior to the website update. Rather, your availability date remains Q3.

We have yet to see this confirmed by Len or anyone higher up such as a DA.

When you say "updated my design" you mean when you load your design up from the link on your account page? I think that's just the standard web page for loading up any Touring. It's not specific to your order at that point, if that makes sense? At least, that's my guess. In other words, all Touring design pages say that now.

Per a Studio Associate, there are 3 steps to the process:

Reserve - this is when you make a deposit

Order - this is when you choose your options and we start making your car, at this point your deposit becomes non-refundable.

Delivery - this is when your car is done, the balance is paid and you get your car.

I have a reservation. When my place in line comes up, an SA will contact me with an invitation to order. They have NOT started taking orders for the Touring yet, hopefully in a month or two.

Between what you are calling “order” and “delivery” you have to get your “VIN”. At that point you know there is a physical car in some phase of actual construction.

Not here, but then again, I'm not high on the list either. Which did you like better the Ioniq 5 or the EV6? Is the dealership tacking on a "market rate" fee of $5000+ to the car?

I have a reservation for Pure and I plan to get all the options. I would like my 2nd EV to be ioniq 5 RWD Limited for max range. I like the simple style and better rear visibility of ioniq 5 and I think my 2 70lb dogs will like ioniq 5 better. Problem is Hyundai is making mostly the lower end models and very few Limited which has bi-directional charging port, 110V 1.9KW output, Heads up display, 360 deg view etc. If you find a rare one, MSRP is 53k loaded and asking price is 63k. I decided to wait for 1 more year and keep my old faithful 2006 Lexus LS 430 90k miles (really) and 2005 Sienna XLE Limited 119k miles and wait for Pure to be delivered perhaps Feb or Mar 23.

SA from Valley Fair(Santa Clara Ca.) just got back to me and said to his knowledge Air Tourings are still going to production in 2nd half of this year(Next month). No expected timelines for delivery but going off GT deliveries it’ll be 2-5 months after confirmation. Test drives are able to be scheduled from there or Milbrae now. So hopefully we start hearing about some confirmation calls next month.

I am not sure what model(s) they have available to test drive. I’m going next Friday to do it. They had earlier but I couldn’t make it until Friday. I will definitely pass along any info I get from them.

I think we Touring reservations holders are ALL anxious. I hope to get ours by Fall, but that would mean the reservations emails should be coming through this month!
