toll tags/rfid on windshield

how confident are you that its not the tag itself? I have mine behind the glass cockpit inside a silicone cover. have not had issues for months.
I ordered a second tag from EZpass, same issues doesn't work inside the car.

Called EZpass yesterday, They are sending me an external transponder license plate mount.

They confirmed it will work on the back plate as I have no front. (Looks terrible)

Will keep everyone updated.

Can you post a picture of your windshield? Is there a little cutout from the tint on the bottom right corner? If so, you have a v1 windshield (how tf did that happen) and it is metallized and thus will not work outside that tiny window.

Otherwise, I have absolutely no idea what to tell you. Mine works 100% fine just under the rearview mirror, and 100% of Lucid's loaners have an EZPass mounted on the back of the ICC (in some crazy fleet box thing, but nevertheless).

Ordered a third tag. This time external tag that mounts on the license plate.

Just for giggles I put it under the mirror inside. Still didn’t work.

I give up mounted on the rear plate. Done.

In Colorado, the EZ Pass transponder works fine under the rear view mirror module. Supposed to in lower left corner corner. Spoke to EZ Pass CS tech and he said put it anywhere on the windshield you want, outside the field of view. He said their tests have shown it will work on any "normal" windshield location. Their location recommendations are to keep some dumb ass from putting in the field of view. Shockingly, he said it happens often.

Given how many people mount their phones right in their field of view, this doesn’t surprise me.

Happily just took delivery of my 2025 AT yesterday and glad to join this forum! :D

I plan to try mounting my EZPass behind the Glass Cockpit and have ordered the silicone black wrap for the transponder which arrives tomorrow from Amazon. But for what it's worth, I noticed that there seems to be an EZPass-sized gap in the windshield coating conveniently located to the right of where the rearview mirror is such that it wouldn't be in the driver's view. Still unsightly to see the transponder from the outside but could be a solution for those still having difficulties. Here's a picture of the windshield, taken from the outside, with the gap indicated in yellow.
