Alright, just spoke with the local collision center, ball park estimate is $4500 for parts and labor of a metal roof windshield replacement. A lot higher than I imagined!
 
Authorized body shop wanted $4500. They were not nearby. Neither was Lucid SC but at least the LIRR and NICE bus can get me there. Even $2500 is too high for a metal roofed car.
 
Ya at that price, im almost willing to just not replace it since it is just upper passenger side and I've already did some manual patching to stabilize the crack. I wonder if the lease return wear and tear charge will be lower than this crazy repair shop estimate.

Is taking it to a Lucid SC out of the question?
 
Unfortunately I am in the Denver area so the closest is Scottsdale and that is still a 13 hour drive. Maybe if I wait it out, they'd build a service center in Denver :)

I am guessing that the approved shop is the one where are Lucid service guys hang out, Nylund's Collision Center?

And I have not heard a word in ages about the alleged Denver center.

Yes sir, Nylund's gave me the quote. I learned that the service center and the body shop are disjoint entities so I have to deal with them each independently.

The Lucid guys operate out of a tiny stall way in the back. I would find it depressing to work there, especially after seeing all the new gleaming state of the art Lucid Service Centers around the country. There is absolutely nothing gleaming at Nylund's. Thankfully, our guys are great!

I had never heard about Nylund's before my Lucid, from anyone in Denver. It specializes in Lexus.
 
While traveling in SoCal, I had yet another (yes, this will be the 2nd replacement) projectile strike the far right side of the windshield. Of coarse the next day the ding became a sizable crack and continues to grow. The first replacement was done at the Scottsdale SC using their recommended auto glass firm. The claim was over $3200 and took an extended time to get approval as the cost was certainly much higher than your typical windshield replacement. Lucid is now doing all the work themselves at the SC and I was pleasantly surprised that the cost is about $2900. I will need to get the windshield tint applied again as well. The only downside, though not a big deal, is that I will need to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed from my insurance company. Quick and easy dealing with the Scottsdale SC as usual!
 
Ooof, sorry to hear that dude! That's why I'm sort of dragging my feet on the repair in case I get more chips or cracks. Not sure how long I can delay it and still have insurance cover though. Need to give the insurance company a call.

Finally got back from SoCal. The Scottsdale SC did kiss and make up with the local glass firm and they did indeed come to the SC and Lucid did the calibration work. Final cost was less than the original estimate by about $150. Great job from the Scottsdale SC as usual! FYI the Lucid supplied OEM glass canopy is $1650 alone.

Do the total was $2750? Asking because I want to store that little fact away for future reference...

Lucid generally requires windshield repairs or replacements to be done at a Lucid Service Center or a Lucid‑approved repair shop. Using a third‑party shop, especially for full windshield replacement, may risk voiding warranty coverage if non‑OEM parts are used. Small rock-chip repairs might sometimes be done by third-party shops, but for proper fit, OEM parts, and to stay compliant with your lease and warranty, it’s safest to go through an authorized Lucid repair facility.
 
I'm in the middle of dealing with this too on my '22 AGT. Big crack - 36" - appeared after parrking outside in 0 degree temps. Probably (I suspect) from an old chip repair. Insurance suggested Safelite (which I've used before), so I spoke to them and asked whether they had experience with Lucid, and could access OEM parts. Guy was a little too glib, in my opinion, and assured me that they could get the glass by next monday. Separately, car had to be towed to the Denver SC for a rear drive unit problem (probably an oil pump issue, according to their diagnostics) and I asked them about the glass and they referred me to the Lucid-approved body shop next door (Nylunds, for all of you Colorado folks). Spoke to them, and they said that it would take them at least 2 weeks just to get the glass delivered, but that they have done several. As others have mentioned, replacing the glass isn't a big deal, but the recalibration is. They work with the Lucid guys (Lucid removes the trim, Nylund replaces the glass, Lucid completes the process and recalibrates everything). Didn't give me a quote over the phone (needs to see the car first), but gave me a range of $3,500-$5,000 (!) Insurance will pay, but still..
 
Due to the extensive recalibration and re calibration of cameras and how it subsequently affects hands free driving..I'd not mess with any non lucid shops...while windshield may look like a hardware only issue...it is far from it...lots of software will need to be redone or recalibrated so just go the Lucid route.
 
@Gandalf I just did this last November, total bill was 4.8k. I have a metal roof 24 AT, your total is likely more if its the glass roof option.

Insurance was also a pain in the ass, a bunch of the work was coded as "Miscellaneous" which Geico didn't bother to cover. After calling/emailing Geico a couple of times with highlighting how the "misc" item was actually work related to the glass repair, they eventually paid out like 90% of the repairs. I got too lazy/tired to fight for the last few hundred bucks and just left it.
