Tire issue

So this happened to me today. Front passenger side tire. I dont remember hitting any large potholes or curbing that tire.
Well..tires don't curb themselves do they? =)

It does look like there is some curb rash near the bulge, on the rim. I’m not blaming you, of course, but it does look like that.

$500 for one 21" tire. Yikes.

I like the 20" wheels. I wonder how those are holding up on poor pavement.
I‘ve replaced 2 of the Lucid 21’s. BMW 760 with 20s handles the manhole covers and potholes much better. Part of that is the BMW suspension, but the extra side wall is a big factor. The second tire I knew exactly when it happened. Pot hole was less than an inch deep. This is not unique to Lucid. I had an Alpina with 21’s and lost a few tires to sidewall damage without ever damaging a rim.

My Taycan has 21" Tires, 265/35/R21 fronts and 305/30/R21 rears. At 13,000 miles I've never had a tire issue (Saying that is probably the Kiss of Death). They are all-season though and NOT Pirellis. I'm just not a Pirelli fan.

btw, there's another thread that covered tire bubbles

some information there about Pirelli warranty, how to register your tires, etc.
